[open] Welcome to the home of tradition and progress!

Who: EVERYONE! including Mrs Kaufmann and Rose Bonbright
When: October 11th, starting 6 p.m.
Where: The museum that is attached to the town-hall of Füssen, specifically the Kaisersaal.
What: Mingle and happy welcome!

Through the usual channels, the mayor of Füssen has invited any and all numbered - no matter if they are only visiting for the evening/weekend and actually reside in Locke or Vegas or if they are staying for longer - to attend a little reception at the Kaisersaal in the town museum which is attached to the townhall.

Aka this snazzy room just with the chairs grouped around tables and no stage, though four musicians play quartets on a low podium at the side of the room. It's a very distinguished affair don't screw it up, you can do it, numbered! No, we don't know who believes that, either.

Mingle and eat and have fun!

And a note: Drinks are free! But the youngsters will get carded, and alcohol like beer will only be served to 16+ people, while spirits and other higher percentage booze will only be served to 18+ people.

[Rose will be wandering around the room and greeting pretty much everyone that seems free at the moment. She is dressed nicely, but not overly so, and will open conversations with a smile and a nod, and if the person keeps her eyes, the words:]

I'm Rose Bonbright. How're you doing? [And then offer a hand for a handshake.]

Kaufmann is around, watching the strange people she has invited to her town and wondering if this was really such a good idea.

At least this (to her) proves that the Numbered themselves are not responsible for things. The silo appeared before any Numbered were in the city. Therefore it follows that the strange events attract them and are not caused by them.

[Blaine sits in a corner of the room, a plate before her and a drink in hand (it's actually apple spritzer served in a beer glass. Pretending so hard).

She's mostly watching the going-ons, but if she sees someone that she knows, she'll give them a little wave.]
espigeonage: (💕In a thousand years we'll meet again)

Julien's impressed with the decor. He spends some of his time studying the ceiling, sometimes laying a handlike foot on the base of a column. The rest of the time he's Julien-at-a-party, smiling brightly and with genuine pleasure and talking with animation. Even though he's folded his wings in close and keeps his tail tight, he of course stands out. Having acquired more of a taste for alcohol over half a year of being around Isabela and not being able to drive, he's often got a beer.
espigeonage: (🐦Your sisters and brothers)

[personal profile] espigeonage 2014-10-10 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[Greeting non-numbered and trying not to tower over them, Julien feels like a giraffe trying to drink sometimes.]

Galu! Julien Sakazaki. I'm a little excited, how 'bout you?
espigeonage: (💘And all you suckers can see me go)

[personal profile] espigeonage 2014-10-10 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Julien sees that. And he's apparently decided to be That Embarrassing Relative, because he brings an immense white feather up and uses it to blow a kiss at Blaine.]
prismaticdestruction: (Shy)

[personal profile] prismaticdestruction 2014-10-10 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Dani is here as well, although she's pulling the normal 'Sit by a wall and watch' mostly. Of course mostly because she's a kid and all she can see are adults as it is.

She might talk a little bit to those she knows and politely introduce herself to those who came and ask.
]
prismaticdestruction: (Let me tell you how it works...)

[personal profile] prismaticdestruction 2014-10-10 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, one of them is the winged 9 year old who curtsys even if she's not quiet dressed for it.]

It is nice to meet you, I'm Danièle Delacroix. I'm doing well, what about yourself?
merchants: (Rose: I listen.)

[personal profile] merchants 2014-10-10 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Excited is a little bit of an understatement.

[She smiles and just leans back a bit, curiously peering up at him.]

My mother and sister have told me a lot of things, I wouldn't have though that you're coming over here next - the numbered in general, that is.
siesinddasessen: (blockhead)

[personal profile] siesinddasessen 2014-10-10 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[....Julien no.

No.

Too bad they're in public and she can neither flip you a bird nor throw things at you. ...Well, not in the right kind of public for that, anyway.

So she makes a gesture as if she's waving him away.]
espigeonage: (☼Swim for the music that saves you)

[personal profile] espigeonage 2014-10-10 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Great! [he would like to shake hands but it's kind of a process.] I hope we can do good here.

Oh? Why not? I've never been overseas before.
espigeonage: (🔍You'll be a real good listener)

[personal profile] espigeonage 2014-10-10 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[What's that? Come closer? Okay.]
merchants: (Rose: Smile.)

[personal profile] merchants 2014-10-10 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[...Oops, children. She isn't actually sure what to do with children. She's been told that it is always good to be on the same eye-level as the other person, though, if it is possible without offence - so she offers Daniéle a chair at the next table before pulling one for herself.]

I'm doing fine - just glad that I don't have to drive back all the way to Innsbruck tonight, that wouldn't be particular amounts of fun.
merchants: (Rose: Smile.)

[personal profile] merchants 2014-10-10 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, Locke and Vegas are in the US, right?

[She laughs and then makes a vague gesture with her hand.] And of all places - after two large cities, you'd have expected London or Paris, or Berlin or Rome... or even just Munich or Milan, something of that kind.
siesinddasessen: (extreme winking)

[personal profile] siesinddasessen 2014-10-10 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
You look like you're having fun.
espigeonage: (🎇I'm not giving in)

[personal profile] espigeonage 2014-10-10 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. And not on opposite coasts or anything.

[Julien grins.] Oh, I get it. If you were picking places for spooky nonsense to go down, Fussen wouldn't have been in your top ten, huh? Maybe the spooky nonsense got overstimulated by the crowds before.
espigeonage: (🎺we will sing our blues away)

[personal profile] espigeonage 2014-10-10 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I am! Meanwhile, you look like yourself. What'd you pick up, foodwise?
professorwolf: (gentleman)

One of the people here is in fact an urbane and sandy-haired middle-aged gentleman who looks every inch the teacher, of some sort. He is intentionally making the rounds of all the locals he can find, being polite, well-mannered, and incredibly mild about his curiosity. Lyall is good at being polite, well-mannered, and mild, which is probably a good thing to the people who know he's also a werewolf. He's usually also better at handshakes, but the sun is down in this part of the world, and he has to be careful just how hard he squeezes things.

Eventually he makes it around to the mayor, offering her a small smile and that same careful handshake. "Good evening, ma'am. Randolph Lyall, Locke local." Just in case she hasn't seen his little group's broadcast. Also, apparently here in Germany, he's given in to the inevitable and is using the name he keeps wanting to use, despite it not being the one his parents gave him.

One of the less obvious but still more well-known guests at this event is Randall Lyall-- who is, to most everyone, introducing himself as Randolph Lyall, giving in at last to the urge to use his echoed name in a completely new company-- the werewolf from Locke who went public on television. He's nervous here, with all the smells and strangers, but he's putting on a good face, treating it like he might an open house at the high school, and all the German locals like teachers he needs to impress with quiet authority, calmness, and good nature.

It's actually not as hard as he thought it might be, keeping that mask up, especially as he's also on alert for any trouble, like what usually shows up when a large number of them are in one place.

Of course, between getting to know the German locals and answering all sorts of questions-- not to mention attempting to parse the language as much as he can-- he's also happy to visit with others from Locke that he knows, who have made it here.

Well enough, miss Bonbright.

[Lyall accepts the handshake, but a bit more carefully and slowly than he might have a month ago. It's after dark; he is being overly careful that he doesn't break anything, particularly people's fingers.]

It's a pleasure to meet you. Randolph Lyall.

[She may or may not recognize that isn't actually the name he gave on television. It's pretty damn close, at least, but it's still slightly off.]
merchants: (Rose: I listen.)

[personal profile] merchants 2014-10-10 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yes, thank you for not breaking her fingers, that would just be very rude behaviour in a guest, wouldn't it?

And there is a short pause in her act that indicates that she noticed that the name is off, but perhaps doesn't trust her ears or memory - or simply feels that it is not the time to bring it up.]

It is a pleasure to meet you as well. You are from Locke, aren't you? Are you over for a visit, or will you move to this area now?
merchants: (Rose: Or so you say.)

[personal profile] merchants 2014-10-10 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that's still closer than over the big pond - and distances grow kind of muddled when you're in Europe for a while. My flatmate thought that Las Vegas was in California until I told her otherwise.

Well, so far no ghosts have shown up, but who knows what'll happen over the next weeks. [There is a moment of serious in her words as she continues.] I will just hope that things won't end in as much destruction as in Locke and Vegas.

"Elisabeth Kaufmann, mayor." She shakes his hand firmly. "You are one of the Numbered?"
espigeonage: (💃This is what we are)

[personal profile] espigeonage 2014-10-10 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I've heard you can cross countries in a few hours here. Sounds like fun!

Mmm. Same here. [Julien smiles sympathetically.] We're trying to figure this all out, too.

I haven't decided yet. It is a bit tempting, I'll admit.

[But Locke is home, even if the house is no longer the secure refuge he needed it to be, and there's Nick to consider.... He offers her a little smile.]

I will say I find the people here to be much more friendly. It's a nice change.
