Exactly. The heroines have to look and act certain ways, as do their heroes, and they expect certain positions and sex acts, and of course there always has to be an ending of Twu Wuv. It's disgusting, really, and doesn't leave me all that much room to play with imagination. But, the audience knows what it likes and what it wants, and if I don't give it to them, someone else will.

It's a living. But, of course, because I write a certain way, my audience expects me to be a certain way. My audience expects Naishe to be dressed romantically, no visible ink or unorthodox body jewelry, hair in curls, wearing exotic perfumes, smiling and fluttering and gushing, but still mysterious. Oh, and also the tragic widow who lost her one true love, but might one day swoon into the arms of a second Mr. Right.

That's not me. You know me as a shameless drinking, sexing bitch covered in piercings and ink who doesn't give a fuck what people think of her.

But, a few hours of playacting won't kill me.
