[Ariel can't help but appear rather happy right now. Even with monster cars, aliens and cultists on the prowl, her life has been going pretty well lately and it shows with her rather impish smile as she turns on her camera to her laptop.]

So summer is here and with summer that means beaches! is anyone interested in going to the beach? I was thinking of making a party of it and having some fun in the sun. Maybe if enough people show interest, we might even be able to get a bunch of people to play volleyball or Frisbee or something together. Or someone could hang ten with me. I do have an extra surfboard-- so long as you don't mind hot pink. Now that the 4th is over, I'm looking at maybe this Saturday for some fun in the sun!

Also thanks to anyone who helped rescue Naya while I was away on vacation. I'm sorry that was even a thing that happened.

We'll get you some febreeze or something then. [She laughs smiling.] I'm sure it won't be that bad.

We'll see! [it does help that he bathes regularly.] I'd like to hope I can still swim. So you know, I'd own at volleyball.

Is that a challenge I hear? Sounds like you and I will have some fun then this weekend! Feel free tp bring anyone else along too.

[Set against his wings and legs, Julien's body looks stubby and truncated when he's got few clothes. He'll have to figure something out.]

It's fact! Array a team against just me, that's the only way it'll be fair. And oh, anyone?

Yep. Anyone. I want this to be a proper beach party sans things like alcohol since there probably will be some kids around. I don't know. We'll have to try some one on one. I've got some moves that might make me an even match to you, even with your height and reach!

[espigeonage]

Awww. I suppose it can be dry. [he's playing more disappointed than he is. Julien prefers drinking at home, or at Isabela's.]

Those must be some moves. My reach is like fourteen, fifteen feet, kiddo, and I'm more graceful than I look.

[She grins cheekily at him and winks.]

Uh huh. Whoever spikes the ball into the other hard enough to hurt had better rush over and be all comforting.

[She laughs.]

Why does that sound like you're expecting me to comfort you?

I'm hedging my bets! In case you actually are as good as you claim I'd like some balm for my poor wounded ego. You know I have a delicate soul.

[sylvanguard]

[And that gets more laughter out of her.]

Well first lets see just how good the both of us are before we make demands of solace and comfort! But if I beat the pants off you I'll be sure to soothe your flagging spirits.. or should I get Isabela to do that instead?

Aaah, I suppose! There is a non-zero chance I can't actually play the game. [he can't make a fist and his arms are heavily shrouded in soft feathers.] Or that you'll I don't know be distracted by pulsing back the ancient elvish obsession with toymaking on the big day. We'll just have to see.

You could try! I don't think her brand of comfort is something to do in public, though.

I don't think anyone would fault you for using your feet as well. I'm sure you can jump pretty high and use a foot to spike a ball. I have to ask... why would you pulse back toymaking> As far as I can recall none of us pointy ears make toys.

[She arches an eyebrow at that last comment about Isabela, but refrains from saying anything.]

Maybe. Another reason no one should be on my side! They'd so get wing attacked.

[Julien blinks exaggeratedly.] You mean you don't work for Santa? Say it ain't so! Don't tell me you don't make shoes or cookies and live in trees too!

[I like to think in a world where Tolkien didn't write fantasy his style of elf isn't as commonly written about, though he had rather elvish aliens in his scifi. That leaves more of the small kind in pop culture.]

[Anyway, he just smirks.]

[She grinned at that and winked to him.]

[Reeling back from his mirror, Julien presses what's left of a hand and a whole lot of feathers to his chest.]

No. My hopes and dreams are shattered!

Good! [She laughs and then shakes her head rolling her eyes at him.] Sorry to have shattered your hopes. maybe when christmas rolls around I'll put on a santa's helper costume for you to help you cope.

I'd be a good boy to see that. With curly boots?

... You're pushing it with the elf hat already. but if it comes with the curly shoes then yeah.

They're so cute though! And your ears set off all kinds of hats.

You're one of those people who loves christmas, aren't you?

Loves is probably too strong a way to put it! I like it just fine. Why, you?

I don't love it myself but it is a good holiday all the same. I do like the lights and stuff. Just not the christmas music. That gets old pretty fast. My sister is huge on christmas though. She loves everything about it.
