[Ariel can't help but appear rather happy right now. Even with monster cars, aliens and cultists on the prowl, her life has been going pretty well lately and it shows with her rather impish smile as she turns on her camera to her laptop.]

So summer is here and with summer that means beaches! is anyone interested in going to the beach? I was thinking of making a party of it and having some fun in the sun. Maybe if enough people show interest, we might even be able to get a bunch of people to play volleyball or Frisbee or something together. Or someone could hang ten with me. I do have an extra surfboard-- so long as you don't mind hot pink. Now that the 4th is over, I'm looking at maybe this Saturday for some fun in the sun!

Also thanks to anyone who helped rescue Naya while I was away on vacation. I'm sorry that was even a thing that happened.

I don't love it myself but it is a good holiday all the same. I do like the lights and stuff. Just not the christmas music. That gets old pretty fast. My sister is huge on christmas though. She loves everything about it.

Haha, yeah, there's nothing worse than endless replays of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Unless it's gift shopping on a time limit.

I like managing to dodge the stress and just spend time with people. [he's a little melancholy here. Last Christmas was lonely.] You know in Japan it's a romantic holiday?

I know, right? I prefer the parodies myself. [There is a pause as she thinks about what he said.] Really? Why a romantic one?

Ugh, even those take ages. Just start from twelve, don't do the whole tedious thing!

[Julien tilts his head a bit.] I'm not entirely sure! Partly it's how hardly anyone there is Christian. Maybe they take in the "be with family and share the love" thing in a different direction!

[sylvanguard]

[She can't help but laugh. ]

You must really hate that song. Well that is a sweet sentiment to have. So do they celebrate valentines day as well? Since that is the "day of love" in most countries?

I think so! I've never been there, but I've heard there's a White Day some time later and that's for the receiver to get something to the giver.

That actually sounds really sweet. Seems like it makes sure everyone gets something out of the deal. Pretty sure if the big corporations got a hold of it here, it would be turned into another holiday marketing cash cow like everything else.

Of course it would.

So, you going to wear that cowboy hat around town? Don't tell me you didn't pick one up.

[sylvanguard]

I did grab a cowboy hat! [She leans away and then picks something up from her nightstand before reappearing wearing a black hat at a jaunty angle on her head.]

I see! Cute! So, you have chosen the path of evil, eh?

Yup, and I am taking you with me!

[She holds up the second hat that she bought for him. It is also black.]

I figured you have enough white on you as is so it's time to spice it up a bit.

What? Oh, dear. I'm weak to a bad influence... muhuahaha...

[sylvanguard]

[That makes her laugh all the more as she drops both hats off back onto her nightstand. In the background, Naya decides to go and investigate the hats and can be seen slinking off towards them.]

Hey I try to be a good influence to you!

You say that and then you offer a black hat. Mixed messages, Ariel! Unless this is some different message... black hats. Black ops. Black ties, and a black attitude.

-They're gonna get coated in hair, watch it.

She glances back looking at Naya. At least she is a black cat. it won't show up as much as if it was Cass or Marce.

[Cassandra was her siamese and Marcelline was the snowshoe and both had lighter coats.]

And the hats would just be flattened if Khan decided to lay on them. I think he needs to go on a diet. all 16lbs of him.

[She sighs and reaches off screen to pet the gentle giant. Before returning to look at the camera once more.]

You can be a good guy and wear a black hat. Just so long as you're doing more good than your opponent. Like that one movie Cowboys and Aliens! Hah, I'm surprised we haven't had a cowboy showdown yet in LV or Locke.

Mm. [Julien doesn't feel he should comment on how other people raise their pets.]

Not enough cowboys! Clearly you need to fill that void.

[Khan was 16lbs because he was an adult male Maine Coon. She had been joking about the diet since he was a healthy male.]

Well I'll have to fix that I guess. The hat is a start.

Yes, good. So anyway when are you thinking about this beach thing? Water's gonna be cold even now.

I was thinking this Saturday. Weather should be good and it gives it enough time for people to plan for it without it becoming a big deal.

Just the local beach. Get out there early enough to stake out a spot and then have fun.
