What: So while Killian got Kíli's pipe, Fil got the addiction to (and a pouch of) pipeweed. Killian also occasionally smokes. This is going to be fun.

[He's had the pipe for about a month now and he's been experimenting with it on and off. It was easy enough to explain to the guys running the shops that he already occasionally smoked and he'd gotten the pipe from a relative and was interested in trying it. The more Killian messed with it, the more and more familiar it felt. Apparently Kíli was a pipe-smoker. Huh.

He's messing with it today as he fucks around online, switching between YouTube, the Network, that one game with Madagascar and killing people with Disco Fever, and the spreadsheet he's made out to figure out just how much sleep he'd gain if he quit the stables.

Answer: a lot.]

I got partly drunk while you were on your honeymoon with Ariel. [Fil makes a face.]

I'm pretty sure I said something terrible to Eugene, but I can't remember exactly what it was. I should probably apologize for it.

Hey, you went from five-six to, like, four-five. Drunk is totally acceptable. You should still probably apologize, yeah.

I never used to drink until I'm drunk. A beer or two is fine with friends, but deliberately getting that way? [Fil makes another face.]

It's easier to apologize if you know exactly what you're apologizing for. Drunken ramblings is kinda too broad a topic.

I did survive the entire evening without getting punched even once so it couldn't have been completely awful. I can stand some teasing I guess.

[Killian chuckles, taking a drag from hos pipe.]

[Fil snorts and reaches over to pluck the pipe from Killian's hands.]

[He gestures vaguely]

Besides, can you blame me for thinking that she didn't like me? I'm not exactly a catch.

You're fine as you are. If a girl dumps you for a stupid reason like looks or money then it's not worth it to begin with.

I'm still not a catch. I'm freaking lucky that Ariel likes me as much as I like her and I know it.

I should talk to Ariel and get her to do something to reassure you of your own worth of something.

[Fil paused then wrinkled his nose.] I can't believe I said that.

[Tuala comes over and takes up a place on her daddy's lap. Killian starts petting her]

Never mind. You don't want to know, and I don't really want to think about it more either.

[Fil takes up the pipe now since Killian's busy with Tuala and takes another lazy draw from it.]

This really is pretty relaxing. Is it because of this weed we're using?

Could be, or maybe we're just so used to crazy shit that this is a good break.

That's true. There's all that family drama and then there's the echo-caused crazy.

I still want to take that road trip home one of these days soon.

And I still wanna go with you. It'll be fun.

Great! Can't get out of work so easily these days, but maybe in a month or two I can and we'll make a week's trip of it or something.

Sounds great. I can't wait to meet your mom--though will I need to be prepared to dodge any flying dishes?

You'll love each other. And don't worry, no flying cutlery unless we do something that really pisses her off.
