Second Song [Video]
[ Hey. Linda's using video this time! This is pretty weird, unless you're one of the few people who've actually talked to her with video before. Most of the time she just does text. ]
Okay. I've been sitting on this for about a week, because I was hoping that staring at it long enough would make me suddenly realize what this thing is. But I'm not having any luck, so...
[ She holds up a necklace that's mostly a red jewel on a chain, shifting it around a bit to make sure that most of it is in the view of her webcam. ]
Does this thing look familiar to anyone on here? Because I keep staring at it and I'm drawing a blank, but I got it back during that pulsing, so... [ It's obviously important, which is why Linda's keeping it with her instead of just sticking it in her drawer and forgetting about it. Though speaking of pulses...]
Also, speaking of pulses, has anyone else gotten a skill that they completely sucked at before the pulse? I used to be terrible at singing, but ever since that light a week ago I've suddenly been able to sing... well, not amazingly, but way better than just decent.
It really feels, well, weird. Like some sort of law of physics has been broken or something. I mean, I know the weird part is normal for everyone, but for some reason this seems weirder to me than, I don't know, suddenly getting green skin would've. At least I would've been expecting something like that, after some of the other stuff I've heard about here.
So yeah, how many of us got 'simple mundane skill we sucked at before' instead of a superpower from these things?

No offense, but I'm going to hope that if I end up with any magic powers, that I don't get them by almost being killed.
But anyway, onto less depressing things to talk about. Knowing how to do that is pretty cool. Hand to hand isn't really something that's, well, stereotypical to a magical girl, so it's pretty cool to hear that you and she had that. What about the rest of you? I mean, the other people who are "Cure Whatever". Do they have the same stuff, or just magic that can be thrown around?

[ It's not even remotely fun, Linda. ]
The thing is, most of us Precures appear to come from different times in these... other lives. There was even two others before us, but they've since fallen off the Network... So out of everything, only two other people on here have had connections to Cure Moonlight before - my sister, and one of those aforementioned former Numbered, a girl who recalled being "Cure Blossom" that was evidently apart of Moonlight's team. Also formerly among us was a "Cure Sunny" who was extraordinarily strong and could summon the power of fire. With us now is "Cure Rhythm," whose powers are drawn from music, and... well, you've met Winter. She's "Cure Diamond," and she has the power over ice and cold.
[ She talks like someone who's given this explanation any number of times, and it comes out almost mechanically. ]
All of us have super strength and a lot of general superhuman physical ability and resistances.
[ ...at least, it does until that last part, where she involuntarily shudders a little bit. Since obviously, she'd discovered the limits of those resistances on her end just recently. ]

Huh. That's... both pretty awesome, and also pretty worrying. That you're all from different times and stuff like that. I mean, it's nice that your past self wasn't doing all of this fighting forever. But at the same time, if it happened pretty quickly, why did the world need that many Precure?
[ She pauses for a moment, before shaking her head. ]
Umm... though I guess that's not really something that you're going to be able to answer. Do you know if there were any Precure after Moonlight and Blossom back then?
no subject
That said... there were two others on Moonlight and Blossom's team - Sunshine and Marine. I've never seen any Numbered with their memories, however, so... Who knows if someone like that is out there?
no subject
[ She pauses for a moment though, digesting the last of that information. ]
Well, I don't know what exactly decides who becomes one of us or not, but if you're here and there were others from that time here, it wouldn't surprise me if someone with the memories of those two will eventually show up.
[ Linda was pretty sure that she WASN'T one of them though. The few memories that she pulsed back since she first got on the network wouldn't really add up to being on the same team as Cure Moonlight. If her past self's life even had anything to do with Precure at all, which didn't seem likely.]

Just not something that's reliable to bet on.

Though I guess being able to tell ahead of time might not be all that good either. I mean, if we figured out how to find that out, other people could too, at least eventually.
no subject
That is not always recommended, however.
no subject
How does that work? Do you just focus on what you've already learned, and hope that you suddenly remember something? Or is it more complicated than that?
no subject
From what we've seen, pulses typically tend to come from encountering things related to the aliens or our enemies, or from experiencing the same or similar events that the "other life" did.
no subject
[ But there was something else that was bothering her... ]
... And the memories I got when those vermini possessed shellfish people about a week or so ago. I just don't know what it counts under.
no subject
Just what sort of memory?
no subject
Being chased by a weird monster, basically. Apparently they were really dangerous... even though it basically looked like a squid that was made out of jello.
And... past me was using herself as bait. To help someone else get someone who was hurt away from it.
no subject
I have some experience with weird monsters. Past and present.
Still... it goes without saying, but that seems awfully dangerous.
no subject
I just wish that I had some idea of what those monsters were. Not to mention how dangerous they were. Past me didn't seem freaked out by them, so I think that thing existing was common knowledge. [ There was also the vague flash in the memory of the other girl wearing something spandexy, but... maybe she shouldn't mention that for now. She doesn't really know much about it, after all. ]
