[Killian has been missing for about three days.

Only not really. He was at Isabela’s on Monday for a shower and food and he’s been at his mom’s grave pretty much every other night and pointedly avoiding parts of the city that his family and friends frequented. Part of him knows running off was really, really stupid but the other part of him…

Well, when you spend eighteen years being raised in a family whose answer to trouble was “pack up and move”, you pick up some bad habits. He was too scared to actually leave, but he had to not be around people he knew. Everything he’d touched since about October quickly turned to shit, and it was only getting worse. His mom dying, Aaron going off Network, getting Fil involved here, giving Thorir bad news, giving Hjalti worse news, that...incident with Ariel and the shower, his grandparents...what was he thinking, trying to make a life here?

Still, he really should have taken his phone when he bolted Sunday morning. It’s hard to check the bus schedule without 4G, after all, and it had all his pictures of Mom on it. So on Wednesday, when he’s pretty sure no one’s home, Killian sneaks back to Thorir’s house to get his phone.

Only to be promptly set upon by the twins and Thalfi and then promptly pinned to the floor and sat on with an "Afi told us to sit on you if you came back so we’re gonna sit on you since you came back". This is where he is when someone comes home--underneath the twins, the Leonberger, and his very affronted cat.]

[After a shower, a lecture, and a good few tears, Killian gets on his laptop]

Uh. I’ve been found. I’m back. No need to look for me anymore.

[No apology for leaving since really, he’s not sure who cares beyond his family]

[Way to make him feel more like shit--and it shows. He's usually good and not letting on stuff is bothering him but today? It is obvious he feels lousy and Ariel didn't help. He can't even look at her beyond a quick glance]

[Later on in the evening, when Killian's family have had a chance to have their say and things have calmed down a little, Gabriel invites himself round. He's there for Thorir and Mardis, of course, and spends some time with the twins, allowing them to braid his hair. But eventually he finds the chance to sit himself down next to Killian.]

Regret coming back yet? [There's a chuckle in his voice. Don't worry, he's not here to give another lecture.]

[He smiles a bit at the joke. Thank God for Gabriel]

I came back for my phone and got sat on. Big mistake.

[After a good while, the sound of someone unlocking the door can be heard and Frigg jumps to her feet in excitement - only to remember that she was to supposed to sit on Killian, and thus she plops herself down on him again very quickly.] Afi, afi, we found him! Look Afi! [And of course Thalfi joins into the chorus, and Röskva answers from outside the door with excited barking. She's not sure what is happening, but it must be exciting.

Expect more dog on you once the door opens, Killian.

Which will happen in 3....2....1....

And there is an excited dog rushing in to join two kids, a cat and the other dog on top of Killian. How do they even fit.]

Oof--okay, if you guys don't get off me in two seconds I am going to be dead and then you'll have to explain to Afi why you killed me!

[He wore his helmet. That is literally the only concession Hjalti made to driving safety in his insane race to get across the city. Thorir's message gets a one word reply - "Coming" - as he leaves the cemetery in a dead run. He'd been there, every day, hoping Killian would show up - he'd said he wouldn't leave Catherine behind. But what if he really had?]

[She'd be so exasperated with both of her boys right now.]

[Traffic is something of a bitch even on a motorcycle, but it's a good thing he didn't see any cops because he'd broken the speed limit by a good 20mph or more. And the traffic doesn't help calm him down any, of course, so when he gets to the house - well, the door doesn't break, but it's a close thing as he slams it open, frantically looking around for Killian.]

[Thorir shows up only a moment after Hjalti stepped into the apartment, and stops a few metres away from him - the observant onlooker would realize that he is taking up a spot in the hallway where it is impossible to get past him without physically removing him first.]

You took longer than I thought you would. [And are far more aggravated than he hoped. He's quickly looking the other man over, checking for anything on him that could be dangerous (despite Hjalti himself. Because uhm. Can't remove his forehead.]

[Fil could hear the after dinner commotion downstairs and decided to skip upstairs where it was quieter instead. It was expected; emotions were high all around. One sign of that was that dishes have been been tossed around already. At least they were plastic ones. Aunt Mardis probably swapped out the real dishes with the plastic ones the very hour right after Killian was confirmed gone. If it was mother's house she'd have done the same and participated in the dishware fight.

It might be awhile before his cousin/brother? comes up so he settles himself cross-legged by Killian's bedroom door to wait. His younger cousins were especially excited to have Killian back so it might be a while. But he could wait to yell at him.]

[Killian is exhausted. Sure, he got in a surprise nap with Ariel during their movie, but that does little for emotional exhaustion and mental exhaustion and really he just wants to sleep.

Except his brother-cousin is sitting by the door. Killian groans, going to open it]
