[Arthur has spent a bit of time exploring this network, and he's been getting ever more excited over everything, because holy cow, this looks cool, and screw consequences, I have something exciting to play with. So he'll open up a video feed using his webcam. He is grinning broadly, waving merrily, and looking like a kid on Christmas morning.]

HELLO, EVERYONE!

[He'll turn to address the goldfish sitting in a bowl on the table next to him, even going through the trouble to adjust the webcam so the fish is in the shot along with him.]

See, Slippy? I TOLD you it would work! OUTRAGEOUS!

[And then he laughs. It's not a crazy man laugh, but man, this guy is certainly in a good mood.]

That's pretty awesome. Shame the police cut into it. So how're you feeling about being a part of a mysterious cluster of people who have no idea what the hell is going on?

I think it's going to be an ADVENTURE! Figuring out what's going on here is just half of it!

[What is angsting and worrying about consequences? A waste of time, that's what.]

Meeting new people! Talking to fish! There's a lot going on here!

That's definitely true. I wonder if this thing is gonna lose its momentum, you know? Like, it's gotta run outta steam eventually, right? I dunno, man. Its hard to make sense of this stuff -- there's no rhyme or reason -- at least, that I know of.

[italktofish]

Well, that's the thing--it doesn't make sense now, but maybe it will! I mean, if you asked me a couple of months ago if fish could talk, I'd probably have thought you were crazy! But now? I understand them perfectly! So you never know what's going to happen, really!

[amberhearted]

[ he chuckles. ] Yeah. Yeah...

[ one day he's going to turn into a bat, isn't he? well, at least he won't have to worry about bills...

rabies, tho. he makes a face just thinking about it. ]

I just hope I never get the ability to talk to cattle, you know? That'd be pretty damn awkward. [ oh! he leans forward a bit, interest piqued. ] Is it awkward for you now?

Awkward? Why would it be awkward?

[He laughs.]

Just means I have more possible friends out there!

You don't, uh, eat fish?

[italktofish]

Well, not anymore...

See, that's what I mean. I love beef too much to give it up, so that'd be a real conundrum.

[italktofish]

Well, what could a cow possibly have to say, anyway? Fish live underwater! They see fascinating things all the time--it's no wonder it turns out they can talk!

[amberhearted]

[ rude, arthur!! ]

I dunno! Cattle are the ones that get abducted first by aliens, right? Maybe they've already been contacted by our alien enemies. Who knows! They might hold the key to our victory...
