[There's a brunette almost glaring at the screen when it flips on, but you just get a quick flash of the person before he's flipping the camera to a blue and navy flight suit complete with a matching helmet which is laid out on his very messy bed.]

I was going to ignore this but I guess I can't now considering this damn thing showed up on me while outside- in public... does it mean anything to anyone on here?

[He holds the phone on the suit for a moment longer before he's flipping it around to face him again. Deren has his hand up in his hair, resting heavily on it from his somewhat hunched position at his desk. The wall behind him is covered in posters and IKEA style shelving and the room he's in is pretty tiny.]

Also- anyone on here know anything about space and giant robots? I remember a few from when the snake attacked but I have no idea who they are on here and god I have a migraine- just help? [He both looks and sounds exhausted, and a little irritable.]

I believe that the general consensus has been that we are meant to protect the earth from extreme peril.

Protect the earth? [He groans. He is not a hero type in the least.] From what? More of those snakes?

I am not entirely certain! Beyond the various monsters there have also been problems with aliens, but I believe that the best answer I can give is 'everything'?

[she sighs a little]

We have not done very well as of yet in finding these solutions.

So we're supposed to be super heroes? Or something like it?

We are supposed to help. I do not think that it requires everyone to be performing impressive feats of heroism.

[says the girl who spent an entire afternoon punching snake monsters with her bare hands...]

If helping involves the robots then I think I could help- otherwise... I've never been one to volunteer or anything like that.

[chernobolt]

There is always time for such a thing to change! But I suspect that we will likely need the large robots in the future at some point, even if I hope that such a thing does not come to pass.

[transcender]

[A wry smile slips back onto his lips.] I usually plan for the worst to happen- if I ever get back a large robot I'll try to help.

[chernobolt]

I am certain that we will all be very grateful! [she grins] And in the meantime I will try to balance things out with the hoping for the best.

...oh! My apologies, I have not introduced myself and we have been speaking for so long. You may call me Kara.

[transcender]

[His smile turns a little amused, but he lets out a soft breath of a laugh before he nods.] Deren, thanks for explaining things to me Kara. By the way, if you're not a robot pilot- what did you get back?

[chernobolt]

I have received many things since connecting to the network, as it has been many months since I first did so. But I believe that the easiest to show -

[she pauses and holds a hand up, worrying her bottom lip in concentration. a small starbolt flickers to life around her hand, disappearing in a few moments. she smiles excitedly]

You're like a lightning bug. [That is pretty cool and ... fairly useful.] Does it hurt?

[chernobolt]

If I hold onto it for too long, yes. [she smiles sheepishly, but it's somewhat more of a grimace] I am not certain if they are meant to be that way or not, but as they are primarily for throwing at things it is not so much of a problem as it could be.

[transcender]

So you can't store it, like for energy... hm. Must be just for fighting then. [He's already wondering what kind of energy that power even is.]

[chernobolt]

It would not surprise me! I received this pulse during the battle with the giant snake, and it was quite effective in damaging it and its underlings.

[and giving her hands third degree burns BUT DETAILS]

How'd you get it then? Did you shoot a stun gun or something?

[chernobolt]

I have no idea what triggered this pulse! But then I cannot say I understand what triggers the majority of mine. At least this one was fortunate enough to come with the recollection of how to use it.

That's useful- otherwise I suspect you'd be pretty hurt right now.

[chernobolt]

Not me so much as everything else around me. It has happened before with another ability I was given.

[she looks pretty embarrassed]

..... [He stares for a moment before finally asking.] What happened?

[chernobolt]

I have had to quietly leave many places after tearing the doors off their hinges.

[SHE DOESN'T LIKE TO TALK ABOUT IT IT'S EMBARRASSING]

Whoa! So you shoot energy from your hands and have super strength? Can you fly too?

[Okay- sorry that's cool and he's sitting up a little more at the idea of it.]

[chernobolt]

[YOU SAY THAT DEREN...but Kara laughs, oblivious to what is waiting for her in the future]

Not at the moment, although to be perfectly honest it would not surprise me! I have recalled being in space with no mechanical aids, after all.

[transcender]

That's lucky... that suit is tight. [And it was a pain in the ass to get out of but it at least seemed pretty durable.]

[chernobolt]

I suppose that it is practical for the tasks it was meant to be utilized in! But I am certain you will receive more amenable pulses soon.
