What: Log for Children Are Dumb, The Plot. A few NPC children have gone to search for Karate Bugman in the underground. Cue a numbered rescue mission, since the unnumbered authorities are unfit...
Where: The underground & the outskirts of the dead district.

"Just another good reason to not even start with that." She shrugs. "Getting attached and all that." She checks the gps. "You seem to be an awfully caring guy."

Fay winces and shrugs, staring at the GPS too for somewhere to look. "I used to could be pretty good at the 'not being attached' thing. That usually only leads to complications, right?" He sighs, more confused than exasperated. "But when things started happening for serious, almost the first thing I remembered was Youou and... well, now it's kinda too late, ain't it?"

"So you knew him in your former life, too?" It... makes her worry. What with that strange blond girl, Chloe? Well, woman, but.

Point. She'd rather not echo ridiculous attachments, even if she guesses that it could be worse, the girl is rather cute...

"Yeah. I'm pretty sure we loved each other back then too, even if there were... issues. Or more like prescriptions from the look of it." He laughs a bit wryly, pulling a hand through his hair. "But yeah, we just saw each other and there was that creepy heartbeat feeling, and... I just knew he was important." And that he wanted to taste his blood, but that's less relevant. "It seems there's quite a few people being drawn to people they used to know in one way or another."

"Oh, I think there are people here whom past me knew." She pockets the gps for the moment. "Just nobody like that." Yup denial is totally the way to go ~~it will be impossible by the evening anyway~~. "I'd not even be surprised if half of them want my head."

"Ah, really?" That takes him a little bit by surprise, but as he thinks about it... "Well, I guess it makes sense in a way? If we can meet old friends, or even people we used to love, then I guess we should be able to meet people we didn't like too." Still, that makes him a bit uncomfortable. He's not sure what kind of enemies past-him would've had, but he can't imagine they're pleasant. "So there's no one among them that you remember... you know, caring about?" Fay, wow, that's a personal question.

"No." She shrugs. "From the little that I know, former me and current me seem to have had a lot in common."

Just ignore that she just rallied a group of people together to save some kids. She totally doesn't worry about them, it's just because their vanishing would get her in trouble. Yup.

"Mmm, really now..." Yes, he can't help noticing that while her attitude is harsh and she no doubt does keep people at arm's length... Well, they're still down here, and he's pretty certain it's not just because she'll get in trouble, should the kids go missing. "I suppose we're all more or less alike them, depending." That sure was a diplomatic answer. "And alike or not, I hope no one from you past life actually does come for your head. It seems a bit silly to hold on to grudges in this life, doesn't it?"

She shrugs. People holding grudges to ridiculous amounts is a thing that happens, and people are not necessarily reasonable. And she's not sure how much others will become their former selves, since personality and attitudes seem to be a possible subject of pulses too, albeit rarer than items and powers.

"You start to wonder if our past selves would have approved of us." Not that she cares at all, for all she cares the past self could have loathed who she is, but it's still an idle thought on the side of walking.
