He's not as fast as her, but he does at least seem to be able to keep away from the Blood Keys now that they've been forced to ditch their bikes. He's got a gun in hand, but he's not about to risk shooting over his shoulder - there might be others on their side behind him, and the action of turning is just going to slow him down right now. For such a low chance of hitting, it's just not worth it.
Yet, anyway. He's glaring at Blaire up ahead, mentally screaming at her to find an escape.

As opposed to, say, a dead end.

...she might curse out loud now. And then point at an entrance. "There!" It's the only way that they won't have to turn around in such a disadvantageous position, and surely a building has more than one door. Right? ...more than one accessible door, too. Right?
no subject
He clearly has his misgivings, but with nowhere else to go he follows her directions anyway, running into the building. He throws a quick glance around, but...
"Wait-- Shit, I'm not seeing another door here!"
He actually backtracks for a short moment, almost hoping there could be a way they could slip past the Blood Keys. It certainly seems more likely than this.

A quick glance around makes it clear that this place might be okay for a shoot-out, but that is not the set of abilities that they have at hand. Shit. She points at the stairs.
"Up." It's, frankly, the last thing that she wants to do - being above ground in a normal building is something that she got used to with time, but going up in a building that seems possibly instable... She forces back the panic and instead runs towards the stairs. If she forces the thought away, she should be able to not panic as long as she's not actually forced to look down or get close to the brink of whatever.

Despite his words, he'll make a dash for the stairs. The panic's definitely got him at this point, but it gives him the adrenaline needed to keep running as fast as he possibly can, which is exactly what he needs right now if he wants to survive this night.
For now at least, he tries not to think too much about what will be waiting for them once they reach the end of the stairs.

"Anyone a great shot?" Because then that person will be assigned with shooting (or otherwise distance-taking-out) at every person that comes around the corner in the hopes that they won't come further once they stop. Everyone else will have to primarily deals with those that the first person could not take out...
no subject
Like hell he's going to stop here. They need to find at least something they can use as cover first.
no subject
"the end of the stairs. Everyone else, you'll take on those that get past Akito!"
/is late
"Just get up the stairs," he said, turning in mid-step. It was a weird feeling and it would slow him down more, but he moved backwards even as he raised his gun and fired. He almost heard that voice chiding him for wasting a bullet, but he had to be sure of the range before his next shot.
"I can cover for a little bit."
no subject
Part of him wants to slow down now that they've got someone covering their backs, but he knows that once he does, he'll lose what energy he's got driving him ahead right now. His teeth gritted, he continues to make the climb, up, up, until they hit the roof.

A short while later, they are maybe one or two stories away from the roof, and the group is still holding together - partly thanks to Sho's fire cover. She'll have to remember that he was able to do tha-
and Blaine stumbles, the weight on her body suddenly distributed slightly differently, and more importantly, herself suddenly being wider. Metal catches against a corner, and she curses, pushing herself from the wall and stumbling for a moment, her eyes going wide when she looks down and sees the attire that she is suddenly wearing. Of all the moments to echo clothes and gear...
It only takes a moment and she is running again, though. She'll have to deal with this later, right now it just cannot get a higher priority than "how the fuck do I run with this" - at least it are clothes designed for combat, that means that they at least technically allow for running.

Shou would go up a few steps, check behind him, turn and shoot a couple times when he spotted potential targets and went up a few more stairs. The Keys were getting doo at trying to move in close, but Shou was getting better, his instincts - wait wait, they think your back is towards them, now hit 'em - growing from this kind of practice.
Then they were at the top and he covered the entrance, his wrists smarting from the repeated firing but yet there was a wild glee in his expression as he fired at the head that just tried to pop out of the door. He missed - of course - but it was still fun.
"Where to now?"

There's nowhere left to run, which meant it was finally time to fight back. He actually heads towards the back, but once positioned he's more than ready to start firing as necessary. He's never shot at people before, but...
If he aims for the legs, that should be alright, shouldn't it...?
no subject
He snapped that over his shoulder, changing out his clip for a full one without even looking. Layers of skills, layers of abilities. He could almost feel the Keys as they stop at the exit before trying to swarm it. Shou aimed for the legs or the arms, going for painful but not fatal targets, feeling slightly wrong about letting them live.
That was something he would deal with later. They had other things to focus on. Rolling his eyes, he decided to try some strategy here.
"People with long range weapons, try to give some cross fire. One to the left, one to the right! Rest of you, grab some pipes that're laying around and hope they don't break through the barrage! If you got any fancy powers, better gear them up cuz we'll need them!"

He's the one who seems to have been some kind of shady mob boss deal in his former life. She's just a shady lone wolf/occasional contractor/short-time follower in this life. That makes a difference.
Instead, she'll go along with his command, shooting, at the very least, is something that she can do. And while Angela's death did shake her, she didn't lie when she said that she'd do it again - she shoots to kill.
Because that is what they are here for, and besides, she doubts that their enemy has much else in mind. Objectification; that is the key. Don't think of them who die (or that you steal from, or that you deliver drugs to, or...) as the same human beings as yourself - it will impair your ability to survive. Don't think of them as individuals. ...And, she has to say, the sunglasses and modifications make both of that easier than it would be otherwise.
no subject
"Shit!"
Even if they're currently trying to kill him, they're still people, and he can't bring himself to shoot properly.

They were going to break through. Shou knew this just as much as he knew that his own supply of bullets was thinning out. Having someone not willing to even hit the Keys made this plan fall apart rapidly. He could tell that as soon as they figure it out, the Keys will attack towards the weakest link: Akito.
As soon as he thought that, the Keys brust out and headed right for the kid.
"Fuck! They're swarming. Akito, get your ass outta way!"
no subject
Where exactly is he going to go while trapped on a roof of all places?
no subject
It should give Akito enough time to turn the tables, or at least gather himself - this is the only chance that she will give him to do that. She's not going to sacrifice him without a second thought because he IS their healer and has worth as that, but to protect someone whose reluctance will get them killed is not something she'll do either.
But it also means that her fire isn't on the door anymore, and another Key uses that chance to break through. Not cursing - that would be a waste of breath - she swaps the gun that just ran out of bullets for her other one. She can't fire with two at once, but it still seemed to be a good idea to have the option to not need to reload - and it turns out a good idea now.
SHIT, though. They can't stop them from coming through at this rate. And that means a direct confrontation.
no subject
A piece of something was spotted on his way; he kicked it up, caught it without breaking his stride and then used it like a bat on the closest Key to drag their attention towards him.
"Get back, get outta the way! Regroup and hit'em!"
no subject
Two bullets into the nearest guy - both his legs, so hopefully that will give him some trouble. Of course, now he has to reload...
