29th Howl [Action | Open ]

Who: Randall Lyall and OPEN
When: All day at the high school, plus a thread for after school with Bakura
Where: Locke High School
What: School is back in session! And Lyall is available for various things

Though the After School Numbers Club isn't technically in session until the police presence at the high school has died down, Lyall is still available if anyone needs to talk, study, or just hang out a bit after school or during breaks between classes. He has his laptop open to a "blank Word document" which is actually scrolling the network feeds all day, and he's apparently perfectly happy to get back to the daily grind.

Mostly because this way he feels less cut off from the rest of the world, compared to during winter break. Even the network doesn't make up for not seeing lots of people every day to keep an eye on them.

Karl takes his coffee with a grateful nod and sips some instantly. Caffeine: the best friend any man can ask for. "Most of us are of a similar opinion, no doubt. On both counts." So many kids getting dragged into something so dangerous is honestly unfair. Life may not be fair, but this is downright cruel. The thought alone gains a frown out of him. "Should you feel yourself an inadequate savior then consider your role to be protecting the kids from getting their heads chopped off."

Nick grimaces slightly. "It's always worse when kids are involved." That's been his philosophy since even before entering the academy, and finding so many teenagers on the network hasn't done anything to change that. "But yeah, Karl's right. A lot of people I know don't think of themselves as the savior of anything, they're just trying to handle things as best as they can."

"Yeah, but with my kids, I'm just as worried about them running into the ax as I am about someone coming along to, uh, chop their heads off. Lovely image, Karl. Thanks." She took a long drink of coffee. "Not that I won't try to keep an eye on them, mind you."

A nice little toast via the cup gets made at the thanking for the image. What can he say, there's a reason he did well both in art and creative writing. "Guiding them away from that ax even if kicking and screaming is more than enough." Protecting the innocent from harm honestly sounds better than being a savior of the world. Then again, his opinion may be biased. After all, this is a cop who thinks teaching be a far nobler a profression. "Saving people and keeping people safe are both admirable roles."
