What: School is back in session! And Lyall is available for various things

Though the After School Numbers Club isn't technically in session until the police presence at the high school has died down, Lyall is still available if anyone needs to talk, study, or just hang out a bit after school or during breaks between classes. He has his laptop open to a "blank Word document" which is actually scrolling the network feeds all day, and he's apparently perfectly happy to get back to the daily grind.

Mostly because this way he feels less cut off from the rest of the world, compared to during winter break. Even the network doesn't make up for not seeing lots of people every day to keep an eye on them.

Lunch Break [Closed to Karl, Sheila, and Nick]

The day starts off with a surprise on Lyall's desk, which he blinks at a few times, sniffs quietly, and then greets with a little smile for what it rather obviously means. He tucks the books and things away in the shelving under his demonstration lab table, so Bakura doesn't ask after them (or anyone else, for that matter), but as soon as the bell rings for lunch and his students are gone, he heads out in search of one formerly-amnesiac not-chemistry-teacher.

Said pseudo-chemistry teacher has a similar goal in mind. After a nearly a month of not remembering anything, speaking with Lyall feels almost necessary. Karl needs to reaffirm what has to be done, namely telling the network everything. It may not be have felt necessary to do before, but it feels so now.

He scowled softly while en route to the biology teacher's classroom, said scowl being directed at himself. During this loss of memory, he had actually started a list of people displaying suspicious behavior. More innocent people could have been hurt all because they hadn't known to be cautious around him. That's unacceptable and could not be allowed to happen again.

Hajime likely should have just waited a bit longer to call Lyall if he needed to talk. That would have been the sensible thing to do. But he'd taken the afternoon off work and spent the day cruising around the city on his motorcycle, which was a mark of just how badly he was trying to force himself to relax. He usually regretted owning a motorcycle in winter, but now, it was just another layer to his attempts to distract himself. It wasn't working. He had family on the network now, and he wasn't dealing with it well.

He found himself in the area of the high school when school was letting out and decided he'd stop by. Nothing wrong with a friendly chat since he was in the area, right? Walking through the halls now that he'd graduated was weird, to say the least. He found the old biology classroom easily enough, and he hoped Lyall was still in that room. Things would get awkward if he weren't. He knocked on the door--probably a little harder than he needed to, thanks to being a bit worked up and having super-strength--and opened it, sticking his head inside.

Halfway between the two classrooms, the two met-- which didn't take long, given they were both in the science hall. Lyall stopped and offered a little smile. "Richard? I got your, uh. Gift. Merry Christmas, to you, too."

Lyall was indeed in, and he looked up at the knock, and smiled at the familiar face. "Hajime. Hello. Come in, come in... everything all right?" Because why would Hajime be here, rather than waiting until the next time he stopped by the restaurant, if there wasn't a problem? He liked the boy, and felt the friendship at least somewhat returned, but he didn't exactly have illusions that Hajime would come visit him just for kicks.

After school

Bakura had stopped in a few times during the day, the normal start of the day, lunch, then after school briefly to complain and sulk that they were making him go see a new shrink and he didn't want to go.

Two hours after, Bakura sent a text.

"I was right. Expect us in about 15 minutes."

And indeed, 15 minute later there was a knock on the door, a somewhat uncomfortable looking Bakura accompanied by his grandmother who was smiling all too cheerfully carrying a sizable bag with a large Japanese logo across the front.

Running into Lyall certainly makes finding the other man easier. As he comes to a halt, the new glasses now on the bridge of his nose begin to slide off. He frowns briefly while pushing back into their proper place. Damn pain in the ass thing. The irritation subsides upon returning his attention back to Lyall. "Thank you. I trust the books were ones not yet in your collection?"

Sheila isn't hesitating to take Randy up on his offer. She doesn't know just how much they can cover over lunch, but it's a start. And frankly, she doesn't know where to begin. Half of the network posts seem to be absolutely loony, and if it weren't for a couple 'flashbacks' of her own, she'd write the whole lot of them off as lunatics. Or victims of some weird conspiracy.

Hell, maybe that was still true.

She slows when she sees Randall's busy. "Hey... bad time?"

Hajime glanced around at the classroom and tried to give Lyall a smile. "Ah, well...I guess nothing's really wrong..." He absently sat down on top of one of the desks. "I was just in the area. Thought I'd stop by and say hello." This, despite the fact that he was obviously worried about something. He quite possibly smelled worried, too, even if he wasn't really thinking about that possibility.

There's something... off here. The sunglasses, the expression, the... smell. The smell is off, and he frowns at it. What in the world...?

Aaaaand then there's a history teacher. Lyall jumps a little, then looks sheepish. "Ah... perhaps." He glances back to Karl with raised brows. "That really depends on Richard, I suppose." And whether he really is back to "normal", though Lyall is fairly sure he is. ... even if that changed scent is a bit worrying.

As much as he'd like to believe that, Lyall wasn't fooled. Still, he'd play along for a little. He pushed his laptop aside and folded his arms on top of his table. "Well, it is always good to see you. Not working today?" For once?

Ah, judging by the expression on Lyall's face, he's noticed something off. Then again, the likelihood of his scent still being the same after all that would be rather slim. Plus, the sudden glasses screams odd, too. Any potential commentary on the changes or the like gets cut off by Shelia's approach.

Karl eyes the history teacher briefly before turning his gaze back onto Lyall. "So long as you're not opposed to Ms. Go hearing the continuation of our conversation from a while back." The underlying question there being whether or not she's a part of the Network. Someone else listening in, well, it didn't really matter as much anymore since it'd end up public information (Network-wise) soon enough.

"I took the afternoon off." Which, for Hajime, was probably a good a tell as any that something was indeed wrong. "Just took the day off to go riding for a while." Because riding a motorcycle to relax was such a good idea in this winter weather, right?

"In this weather?" Lyall asked skeptically, but it was a non-judgmental kind of skepticism. He did understand the value of a good excuse, after all, but all of these were falling far short. He just wanted to be polite about it. "Are you sure everything's all right, Hajime?"

Lyall had only been home about half an hour when the text came in, but since he'd been halfway expecting it and hadn't changed out of his work clothes, all he had to do was tidy up a bit before the pair showed up. He opened the door and greeted them with a smile.

"Bakura. Mrs. Bakura." ((Or whatever her last name is. The app states paternal, so I'm guessing the last name is the same XD )) "What a pleasant surprise. Please, come in."

Yes, it is the Bakura house hold. :) All of them are Bakurae~

Bakura's grandmother smiled warmly, giving a small bow. "Mr. Lyall," she returned. "Sorry for the intrusion. I hope we didn't come at a bad time?"

"Well, it's...my cousin." Hajime sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "He showed up on the network last night. That would have been bad enough, but..." he hesitated for a moment and continued on, "That language I speak. The monster one. He knows it. And he...he knew what I was when I turned into the bug for him. He recognized it."

"Whoa, okay, I have no idea what you two were talking about, but if it's a private matter, I'll just come back later?" Not that she wasn't curious, with how somber they looked. But if this was more network stuff (it really was everywhere, wasn't it?) maybe Randall would say she could stay.

[professorwolf]

"It's... a matter related to our conversation, as well, Miss Go, but it might be more confusing for you than if you waited until after school to come talk to me," Lyall said after a beat of trying to work out how he could balance both conversations at once.

That took Lyall a bit by surprise, and he took a moment to digest it. "And so... you're worried for him," he guessed. "More now than you were before, that is." Because they all knew local families were at risk, as well. Lyall was often thankful that his parents lived so far away, these days, despite the inconveniences.

"Not at all." He stepped back to give them both room to come inside. "Have a seat. Can I get you anything? Tea, perhaps?" Since that was what Mrs. Bakura had shared with him when she'd dropped by, before.

"Oh, no, no need to trouble yourself on our behalf," the woman smiled warmly. "Especially when Ryou is such a trouble on his own."

Bakura's hands went deeper into his pockets, slouch getting a little worse as he continued to avoid looking at his grandmother.

"We wanted to give you this, a small token of our gratitude for all your hard work with our boy," his grandmother continued, holding the bag out with a small bow. "It's really not much, especially compared with how much you've done for Ryou..."

"Yeah, but there's the regular worried, then there's worry that your cousin's going to turn into a giant bug, too." Hajime shook his head and looked a little glum. "Maybe he'll take it better than I did. He was always really into Galaxy Quest as a kid."

Related to their talk? That'll get taken to be Network-related, unless Lyall and Shelia were just having a casual chat about potential undercover cops. Karl's gonna take a guess that, yeah, Network stuff. "Should it be related then I have no qualms with Ms. Go hearing what I've to say as long as she doesn't mind the potential confusion."

"I'll be honest, boys, I'm already confused. Anything more is just gravy, so hit me." She glances over her shoulder at the students and faculty milling about. "Somewhere a bit more private, maybe? Though it seems like half the student body is in the club." Only a slight exaggeration. Sheila's feeling a tiny bit overwhelmed - not that she'd admit it.
