So I just kind of randomly found a weird statue this morning. This is definitely not my uncle's so it's probably mine. It looks like some kind of... demon thing? I don't know. It's weird. I'm pretty sure past-me owned it though. I feel like I was researching this, and something seems off about it for some reason.

[After depositing the food, Ez leads Luci to his room, which is a bit cluttered but has visible signs of a hasty clean-up job. It has all sorts of curious, gaming items, and other odds and ends, as well as a few artifacts from other countries, albeit much smaller than the ones his uncle is working with. The statue is on the desk]

[She looks around a bit, taking note to ask him about things once she took a look at the statue, she makes her way toward the desk, picking it up. She turns it over and is relatively quiet for a few minutes.]

So they weren't able to tell you anything else about it?

[Pause.]

Well, I guess not, since you said that it wasn't from Earth. Can you imagine, though? That really makes you wonder.

I don't know. Probably? Aren't aliens usually the bad guys, though? I don't really want to think about that.

[She's not really bad guy material anyway.]

Usually. Only if the author is uncreative, anyway.

That's true.

I guess I didn't really think about it, but given what we remember, it was probably pretty unlikely that we were from Earth. Still, it feels weird thinking about that. What does that make us, then?

Hard to say. The magic we can both use is definitely a big deal, but we otherwise seem human. At least for now.

I don't want to turn into something weird, as fascinating as that might be.

I can't say I'm crazy about the idea either. Did you know there's a zombie kid hanging around? I'm really hoping I don't end up like that.

Well, usually when one of us gets something back, the other remembers something. This time, nothing for either of us. It's weird.

That is a bit odd. It's obvious we knew each other before, but I have this feeling there was definitely some difference too. Much like we are now, I feel like we were from different walks of life, if that makes sense.

I feel the same way. I just wish I knew more. At least with a book, I could turn to the last page and figure out what happened. This is like torture.
