I'm assuming the breakout was...a success. Thankfully. We don't need any more casualties.

I figured it would be a good idea to notify everyone about this, in light of recent events. The incident that left me out of commission for a while was a new ability, and I believe I've found a way for it to be useful. I'm not sure how else to put this, but

[there's a bit of a pause here.]

I can hear the radio. In my head, I mean. [it looks so ridiculous as he types it, but he pushes on.] I've managed to pinpoint a specific frequency, but with practice I might be able to connect to other ones. I'm not entirely sure how this works, but I guess that goes for plenty of people's experiences here.

I admit I'm not exactly a scientist, so I'm not sure how to go about testing the limits of this. But any suggestions would be welcome. And if there's any situation where it might be useful, don't hesitate to let me know.

do you know what frequency it is?

i could probably set something up to iterate upward from that specific frequency and you can practice trying to pinpoint it...

The local jazz station. WLJZ. It's FM 104.5, I think.

The music helped, so I just concentrated on that.

Intuitive, if that makes any sense. I'm not sure how to translate the "feeling" into a specific number, so I guess I'll just have to memorize each one.

You assume the breakout was successful, huh. Wow! What clued you in? Was it the extensive news coverage? The ongoing manhunt? Or maybe me posting to this very network daaaaaaaays ago to say that Alan and I are out and alive and one hundred percent completely uncaptured? Man. To pick up on clues like those you must be some kind of genius! I am in all kinds of awe. All of them.

I'd be saying you had to be Sherlock fucking Holmes in your previous life if like. You weren't obviously a radio instead. Good luck with that. Growing knobs and dials and an antenna and shit will make you the hugest hit with the ladies.

Right...concrete or anything heavy cuts through it. I figured out how to turn it on and off, though. Somehow. The filtering part is harder.

Possibly? It was a little hard to distinguish between talk radio and real conversations in the jumble. But it's all sort of the same thing, right? [vague memories of college science classes.]

What frequency?

Just a local radio station. I figured it would be easiest to focus on something familiar. But theoretically, with practice I might be able to hit something else.

How do you change frequencies? By just focusing on them?

Something like that. It's not very technical at all, I'm afraid. It's going to be some trial and error for a bit.

Have you considered having an MRI to find out the cause? I've heard that there are at least a few of us in the UH that might be able to help. I'd be interested to see what kind of readings that might get.

If you think you can have it done without attracting too much attention, I'm willing to try. Nothing on the outside seems to have changed at all.

I'm not sure. I'm still relatively new, so I have no idea how far the Numbered influence extends.

yes very thankfully! gosh i nearly had a heart attack after tavia hijacked my cousin's head. for an understandable reason, but still.

the walking radio thing is so cool! unfortunately i'm not much of a techie to help, but wow that would be so handy listening to music. do you know how you synced to it the first time? that might help pinpoint the methodology behind it!

Well, the "first time" it took me a week just to figure out how to "turn it off", so to speak. I think the issue now is learning how to differentiate between frequencies. Since it's really just done by "feeling". I suppose it's like someone asking a musician to sing a specific note without an instrument to give them a starting point.
