8th Frost | Video (Locked to his closer CR.)

[It's not often that Toushirou uses video on the network, but as he's locked this to people who already know him, he feels secure enough to do it. While he might not have bothered locking a post normally, there were certain people -- like Octavia for example -- he doesn't want to risk dealing with anymore right now. He looks a little worn out, but not much worse for the wear. That's actually part of the reason for using video; so the others can see that he's all right.]

Okay, role call. All you guys still in one piece after all the hell that went on last night?

[Yeah, that's the post. Talkative, the kid ain't.]

I'm fine. I was at home all night. Mostly wishing I could eat candy, since I didn't get many trick-or-treaters. I'm guessing something happened....

[Because he isn't touching Octavia's little temper-tantrum with a twelve foot pole. Toushirou is probably going to be easier to deal with.]

Something apparently gate-crashed a Halloween party one of us had and they needed to fight it off. I wasn't there, but me and a couple of the other kids got attacked by some red-eyed dogs.

[He blinks for a second as something registers for the first time.] ... Did a pulse do that?

Did a pulse do what?

[It takes him a second, distracted by the idea of people being attacked, but then he realizes:]

Oh, the accent. Yes, I assume so. It was simply there when I came back from visiting my parents again.

[He sounds a bit annoyed by it, honestly, but in a resigned kind of manner.]

I'm still fine, no one's come asking about anything. And Gloria's doing ok too.

[A little too fine, honestly. He knows how much Phillip likes that dog and yet he hasn't been really emotional about what happened. It's . . . weird.]

So she's gonna make it, then? [He kind of feels bad that he hadn't been able to prevent her from getting hurt. His abilities got a boost last night, but his execution hadn't been perfect.]

[He lets out a little relieved sigh. Phillip, why is this bothering him more than it's bothering you? He's supposed to be the stoic one.]

Good. [A beat.] I really should've kept a better eye on where everybody was. [Sort of an apology without saying the actual words. He'd appointed himself the group's protector, and he'd messed up.]

there were even COPS around when I got back
and I had blood on me too from Gloria which was bad
but I said I found a dog that had gotten run over
and took off to find its owner and I am pretty sure everyone believed me

You know that Halloween party one of us was having? It got gate-crashed by a monster or something. And a couple of the other kids and I ran into trouble out in the neighbourhood.

[She made a mental note to hit up everyone else she knew on the network that had gone out partying... which was a pretty small number, as far as she knew. Mostly she just wanted to make sure a certain person hadn't gotten himself killed. N-not that she wasn't worried about the others too!]

[Perhaps it is the unusualness on Toshiro's end, but Anthony doesn't think not to go on and proceed with video on his end - monotone lower inflection with a wire of concerned tension.] What --

...What happened last night - ? [Slight pull back and even slighter release to polite reservation, rather than dismissiveness in this:] -- I didn't - see anything; I - ...am all right.

[Wonders whether or not he ought to expect anyone else not to be but that's a bridge to be crossed when arrived at with the details of what hell he means.]

[It's instant that his reaction's one of acute worry - it's in a few aspects. He pauses dividing it to address it, it's almost obvious no one was hurt, not in any way that'd have been urgent at the time, or surely even Toshiro wouldn't be able to help if nothing else looking more taxed than he seems to now...]

Did - did you fight - them...? [It's got to be too vaguely-put a question not to be pointless and fussy alone but it's not irrelevant of any immediate concerns.]
