ғɪᴠᴇ. [ action; Dead District, Sunday evening ]

WHO: Pretty much all of you! Except Kallie. She sucks.
WHAT: Werewolf Hunting the Movie, starring yours truly.
WHERE: All around the Dead District.
WHEN: Forward dated to Sunday evening.

[ The hour is late. The sky is dark and the stars are out, the only guidance they'll have for this mission—and this was a mission, in Casval Mass' mind. One he intended on carrying out and returning successfully from, despite the difficulties involved.

He sends out the mass text to everyone when the hour draws near with the full details of their rallying point, sitting on the same trunk from his previous post on the network. He's dressed the same as always; in full captain's regalia, boots polished to an almost severe shine, coattails flickering in the gentle evening's breeze. The only sign of nervousness lingers in the occasional twitch of his knuckles. Otherwise, he's primed and ready for the challenges ahead, keeping a lookout for his "forces" as they arrive.

He's got no delusions about what's going down here. The borderline murderous intent is clear in his eyes. Let them come, his sharp gaze reads.

Let them come so I can kill them all. ]

(( And here we go! Operation: Werewolf is now go! Tag at will! Team assignments can be checked here while you are waiting. Please make sure to mark this post with your appropriate character tag as well.

EDIT: The mingling threads will proceed for awhile to give people time to tag in. Keep an eye out for special threads to go up. Until then, you're wolf free... for now. Please do not NPC running into the wolves, or the wolves themselves. At this time of estimation, they'll likely start appearing tomorrow evening at the earliest, but watch this space for updates. ))

Lyall was not pleased at all at how many students and former students had shown up for this. He wasn't hovering around them, exactly... well, all right, he was. But he was right there should Anthony actually want to talk to him, eyes darting from one teenage boy to another, to that one pre-teen, so young that he could not imagine why Mass was letting him come along. His gaze alighted often on Anthony himself, too.

And Anthony couldn't help but notice that. After he'd noticed the teacher himself, of course, and started to deliberate on whether or not anything ought to be brought up. In spite of himself, when he edged on over, he went on and admitted.

"Mr. Lyall...? I think I -- saw the 'werewolf' last week."

That did catch his attention. Actually, Anthony even approaching him caught his attention, and he blinked over at him with a kind of hopeless expression that he tried hard to hide. Would Anthony be the next of his students to die...?

The hopelessness turned swiftly into alarm at the admission. "You saw it?" he asked. "What happened? Are you all right?"

Concern instead of any chastisement that he should've known better than to be bracing himself for - though while that was a relief, the wistfulness that he knew he'd caught there - even before he'd said a thing! - was a little more bothering.

But he shook at loose and swallowed it to put on a grateful if slight smile. "Yes, sir -- it happened when..." What was his name...? "Kenji... Kobayashi and I both - just happened to come by to investigate the statue. It ran after us; it didn't catch us.

"The doctor had already told everyone that there was something here. It - was - rash of me." He'd said that last as lowly and evenly as he could, partly in a grab to save face of maturity, but really he did feel a contrition, or at least now he did. That concern again.

For a beat, hearing Kenji was there too, Lyall shut his eyes against what could have happened. Thank god it didn't. "It was, yes... but I know a lot of people wanted to go see that thing." And they were teenage boys faced with a mystery and too little information. He never should have brought it up on the network, but that would have been irresponsible, too.

Opening his eyes again, he had to ask: "What did it look like? Did you see it clearly? I haven't seen them yet... I've only smelled them."

"I'm... afraid not," Anthony said lowly - and near downright penitently. An un-approvable risk taken during which he'd gotten himself sick colliding with a strange statue and the two of them had missed their chance to make the observations that'd be most helpful.

In some attempt to save, he trippingly added "But from what we could see, it looked like a dog or a wolf -- it sounded a lot like one."

Lyall smothered the urge to sigh, in the face of how apologetic Anthony sounded. He put a hand on the boy's shoulder, instead. "That's something. I know that's what they smell like-- some uncomfortable mixture of dog and human. If Aaron Strider is right and all they're doing is trying to keep people out of this district, then it would be in their best interests not to show themselves too much, but to frighten you as much as possible." So there, that was a reason for Anthony, at least, if he needed one beyond being too afraid. Which, given that sorrowful look, he probably did.

He offered a little smile. "I'm glad you're all right." Not so glad to see him here, but at this point, pretty much everyone was, so he was giving up on actually saying people should go home. Not wishing, just saying.
