But the possibility of lingering problems still tugged at his mind; while he wasn't one to seek outside consultation, the doctor couldn't quite help typing in the number on the laptop in front of him.]

There's something that I've been wondering. Has anyone thought to examine the physical or psychological effects of these pulses, echoes, or whatever terminology you prefer? The former of the two is what interests me far more, I must admit. Given the apparent range of effects, it certainly does seem as though some could have an adverse effect on one's health.

Like myself, I would assume them occupied with what the echoes caused rather than why they occurred.

Mostly, although that's interesting too. People tend to be more interested with the results instead of how they got there in the first place, it's human nature after all.

I would assume that it is, yes. People tend to react badly to circumstances that are extreme or unbelievable, without really giving consideration to the finer details.

It's a rather troublesome quality, human nature or not.

That's understandable, though. The things that are happening are far from ordinary, so it's only natural that people would react that way to them.

Perhaps. Still, I for one prefer to approach matters logically before losing my head over them.

Not very many people can do that. I try to do the same, but even I can't manage that all the time.

It's a regrettably rare quality, I'm afraid.

Still, that's their way with coping with the changes they're going through. Everyone's different, after all.

The mind truly is a complex matter. To think such varied reactions could all originate from a simple several-pound organ.

But I'm getting a little off track, aren't I? How thoughtless.

Oh, no, I think it's fascinating, really. And I quite agree. Physically, there's little to no difference, we're all made of the same stuff. But there's so much variance in personality, ability, intellect, so many different factors.
