Okay, so I had my first echo.
Well, no, that's not true. It's my second echo, but it's towers he first one that I actually knew what was going on, and the first which I was conscious for. Thomas and I were heading down to the towers, but we didn't get too close before my mouth exploded on me.
Check it out!

Pia! [she can't open her arms wide to welcome her mystery guest in, but she's not feeling that dramatic right now anyway. she steps to the side, holding the door open with her good arm.] Come on in. Good to see you. Thanks for being here.
[the entryway, as it were, opens up to a dining area on the right side (where the booze stands prepared on a circular wooden table surrounded by plastic chairs), a couch and TV set straight ahead, and a couple closed doors down a hallway to the left for the bathroom and bedroom. the main area is carpeted, grey and firm, with white walls lined with some of the more hipster-y posters Brooke could find. well, those and the framed and signed 1968 Night of the Living Dead poster hanging to the left of the TV. girl's got to have some quirks.]

[Brooke's always been kind of a talkative drunk. she doesn't seem too bothered by it, but she also can't make a judgment call on how Pia feels.]

It started around my birthday, in late August. This cast is just for show. Nothing's broken, I just can't use it. My friend put it on me a few weeks ago just to trick my boss. It's supposed to come off soon, so maybe... I don't know, maybe something different will be there when I take it off.

...And ministration is a great word, you can't deny it. [She winks, taking another sip of straight up cake vodka. It prickles her nose and now she can't feel her jaw.]
no subject
I told myself that a lot. Even if I wasn't echoing back to whoever, even if that person was a hero, I've been through a lot in my life. I'm used to rolling with it! [she stops talking long enough to take another swig of schnapps and wipes her mouth with her wrist.]
But here I am. Waging some secret war or whatever, down an arm and a fifth! [she'd appreciate her own wordplay more if she were sober, speaking of good words.] I'm just trying to forget how fast everything went downhill. That's this thing's job, and one of us can still work.
no subject
Let's forget this. Let's have some fun. [She smiles, and winks, taking a step forward, rolling her hips]
no subject
Wait. Wait, do you mean.
[her back straightens. she's not against the idea; hell, it's 2013 and she's liberal enough. it's just unexpected.]
...Ministrations?

no subject
I've never, um. Ministrated with a girl before.
[a somewhat clearer part of her brain thinks it hardly matters. most of it, though, is very close to making a bad decision that she probably won't regret. she's in the living room now and slowly realizing that she really hadn't been lying, all those times she'd called Pia cute.]

I'll be honest. It's been a while, and I don't really care that you're a girl, and a really cute girl, too. But we literally just met. [she looks away from Pia with difficulty, towards her George Romero signature.] Shouldn't that feel weird? It kind of doesn't.
no subject
It shouldn't feel weird if it's meant to be. Not everything has to have a huge build up. I don't think I've ever canoodled with someone I've known for more than a day. [She sighs, rolling her eyes.] It's not a bad thing.
no subject
Sorry. You're right. I worry about stuff that doesn't matter way too much sometimes. I think I do need to let off some steam.
[she closes what little distance might have been between them on the couch, but it's not a come-on. she's not coherent, brave, or seductive enough for that.]
...How does this usually start?
no subject
You don't do this often, do you? [She smiles, moving closer an inch] I don't judge, but I'm not going to force you to do anything hon.
[She places a hand on Brooke's upper thigh casually, looking her in the eyes.]

[her eyes dart over Pia's body, following the trails of the tattoos up her arm and trying not to think about how hard it is to do anything with those fangs. going off the "boys like it when I do this" playbook, she reaches out with her left arm and touches Pia's cheek, then moves the hand back into her hair.]
[she can't keep eye contact, though. her gaze very clearly moves down to Pia's chest, and she lets out a drunken giggle.] Piercings.
[not nearly the most eloquent, but in her mind it gets the question across perfectly.]
