I don't know if this has been asked on here before, but... [There's a momentary pause, as if he was trying to assemble his words. A shaky exhale is heard before he continues.] Has anyone else experienced war 'pulses'?

[He could have ended it there, keep it short and simple. But there was a another thing on his mind, despite being rather reluctant to share it.]

...There's a possibility that I might not be human anymore.

Depends what you call war.

And take a number, join the union. What you got, funky blood colour? Transforming into a monster? Horns? Vampire or werewolf?

What sort of war do you mean? I remember battle.

[And oh, that last bit. Hajime is all too familiar with that feeling.]

If you aren't human anymore, then you aren't alone in that, either.

I'd call it an armed conflict involving two or more sides.

So a traditional battlefield rather than say one madman going up against a kingdom.

Not sure. Sort of? Something about a rebel faction fighting against something, at any rate.

and back to the first question, no. I just have type two. One crazy vs the world.

I remember rampaging and fighting other monsters on more than one occasion, if that counts. Not like I was with an army or anything like that, if you want "war" to mean you've got to take a side to fight.

considering my arms now turn into (non-functional) guns, I'd say so. Though I think that might just be a weird consequence of the biology of whatever species I'm turning into.

[Alarm immediately spreads across Regina's face at the question, no doubt her own experiences with these dreaded "pulses" clouding her judgement, but she makes sure it doesn't show on her end, opting for the voice function on her computer.]

War? Are we talking about the tanks and missiles variety in the battlefield? Bombs exploding several homes?

[A hesitant pause, longer than a second.]

I've... seen something like that once, only without the missiles. [A beat.] Also robots.

We've had non-humans before, as you probably already know by now.

Other-me's peep, people have been at war his whole life, in the memm, memories I've gotten.

And they're ay, aliens.

What else would you call someone going up against god on Earth and his army of priests and their black magic but crazy?

[There's a bit of silence, as if he was debating to ask about the other person's form. The silence is broken by a sigh and his voice sounded apologetic.]

...I know this is probably not my place to ask, but... Does your transformation progress every time you get a 'pulse'?

[He was just reconfirming something he saw on the network and possibility that he might be going through the same thing at a later date.]

[It takes him a long time to reply and when he speaks, he's completely surprised.]

That's... [He catches himself from saying "that's not possible" and tries to salvage it with another bundle of words.] That sounds rather... painful. I'm sorry to hear that.

[He really does mean it.]

Were you fighting for a cause?

[There's a sigh from him.] ...It's news to me.

You might not be human, or the one in your echo wasn't human?

[There's a pause, then:]

What sort of war?

[The digital voice recorder has a small screen on it, so when he receives Anthony's video response, Xander drops the device in surprise. He was glad that it didn't record that little incident.

After retrieving the device from it's fall, he considers being truthful with the other man. Anthony was kind enough to his questions and he figured he might as well return the favor.]

The 'pulse' I received... I saw the 'other me', but he was hurt. There was this -- I don't know what to call it -- but it looked like a second skin that was covering the injuries.
