[He could have ended it there, keep it short and simple. But there was a another thing on his mind, despite being rather reluctant to share it.]

...There's a possibility that I might not be human anymore.

I'd call it an armed conflict involving two or more sides.

[There's a brief exhale, he's taking a moment to think. As much as he didn't want to remember what he saw.]

...No, none of those. I don't think I'm turning in to a monster.

What sort of war do you mean? I remember battle.

[And oh, that last bit. Hajime is all too familiar with that feeling.]

[He didn't want to alienate anyone by setting a time frame, for all he knew someone could have been dealing with war in the future. Maybe he should of been more specific in his post.]

[The sort of question to attract instant curiosity. Anthony doesn't know what sort of medium the man's communicating through, and comes on connecting visually partly to see if it receives a response in kind...]

What uhm -- ...makes you say "might"...? [Tone light and uncertainly on the softer end.]

[The digital voice recorder has a small screen on it, so when he receives Anthony's video response, Xander drops the device in surprise. He was glad that it didn't record that little incident.

After retrieving the device from it's fall, he considers being truthful with the other man. Anthony was kind enough to his questions and he figured he might as well return the favor.]

The 'pulse' I received... I saw the 'other me', but he was hurt. There was this -- I don't know what to call it -- but it looked like a second skin that was covering the injuries.

[Alarm immediately spreads across Regina's face at the question, no doubt her own experiences with these dreaded "pulses" clouding her judgement, but she makes sure it doesn't show on her end, opting for the voice function on her computer.]

War? Are we talking about the tanks and missiles variety in the battlefield? Bombs exploding several homes?

[A hesitant pause, longer than a second.]

I've... seen something like that once, only without the missiles. [A beat.] Also robots.

We've had non-humans before, as you probably already know by now.

[voice]

Yes.

[His tone carried a bit of reassurance with that single word despite it being a grim subject, but it drops at the mention of including robots. He sounds confused by that.]

What do you mean by... 'also robots'?

It was something new to me a week ago.

Other-me's peep, people have been at war his whole life, in the memm, memories I've gotten.

And they're ay, aliens.

I'm sorry to hear that. It... must be difficult.

[He is quite genuine with his words, despite going through the same thing with his recent echo.

There's a pause at the mention of 'aliens'. A part of him wants to inquire further, but doesn't want to be rude by asking an obvious question. Although, the speech impediment does catch his attention and speaks with the same tone as before.]

...I take it that you're going through a transformation as well?

[Audio]

You might not be human, or the one in your echo wasn't human?

[There's a pause, then:]

What sort of war?

I know for a fact that the 'other me' wasn't human. [He states this with a stern tone.] There's still a chance that I might become whatever he is though.

[There's a pause, as if he was unsure how to interpret the question about war. His voice wavers slightly.]

If you're asking me for details, I can't give you much.

I don't know. [There's a small, annoyed exhale.] It's not a vampire or... a werewolf. I don't think there's something that would cover injuries with a second skin.

[A parasite did come to mind, but he didn't want to voice that.]

[ A beat. The voice on the end is young, curious, but not overly polite, even with his next words. ]
