[Lucky for Shou, Kanti actually recognizes him from his video response to her. Familiar faces! Yay! She's not so happy about the Look given back to her, but she's also not one to back down (unless you're Karson and it's RomCom night). Still she doesn't make any active attempts to run away when he comes towards her.]

[And then the posing starts and while she is surprised enough to move with him for the first few adjustments, before catching a second wind and mustering into being offended.]

A hello would have been nice. Just a simple "Hello Kanti, how are you doing? Did the water affect you adversely? Would you like to hear some more about S&M?"

he was doing that again. what was wrong with him, forgetting some of his manners like he has been doing. he froze in the act of smoothing the line of a piece of fabric and then ducked his head.]

[Kanti pats his hand, because it's in her nature to soothe hurts as much as it is to deal them out, though she's finding herself shorter on patience these days. This entire situation has her rather jumpy and she's spent more time concerned about her knees and elbows in the last few days than she ever has in her life.]

You were, but that's fine. I am actually rather good at dealing with that sort of thing. And as for myself, I can safely say I have no idea how I got here or what I'm doing.

I've done modeling before and figured that I can help with setting up and everything but I am still trying to act professional. Guess in trying to be professional, I was also mimicking all the things I hated about modeling too.

Just be yourself and try not to scare your fellow models.

That might be the problem, but I'm sure you'll stop now that you know. As for being myself, I can't say that I would normally be alright with most of this, but it's a lot better than serving coffee.

It's pretty easy work despite all the props. You just stand and try to come up with the emotions everyone tells you to mimic.

Oh, is that all it is really? That sounds a lot easier than I thought it would be.

[She wants to reach up and touch her hair, mostly because it's styled far too differently and it feels like it isn't hers. She resists the impulse though, and lets her hand fall back into her lap.]

I can do that, as long as it's for a photograph.

It's a little harder than what it sounds like. People have a harder time to mimic emotions on cue.

Well as long as there's a small grave period, I'm sure I can manage. I just have to think about things related to the corresponding emotions that are asked for, right?

You probably could. Just remember that you got to look a little above the emotions you're trying to project.

Okay, okay, wait. So I need to look like I am feeling things, but above the feelings I'm feeling?

That's exactly it. [ and he goes into posing mode, leaning back and tilting his head, his face smoothing out. A mixture of perfection mixed with the almost impish curve of his lips, almost like a stature getting ready for mischief.

then he laughs and turns back to normal.]

Sort of. I never got the blank boredom part that well, only the this is so campy part.

I have to put enough effort into convincing people I am not some sort of massively tall Indian automaton on a regular basis. And now this.

Just tell yourself that you're making good money pretending to be a robot than pour coffee and pretending you find every lame joke and yelling customer right about everything.

You've described my job to a 'T' on the first try and I'm not sure if you're really that impressive or if I am really just that obvious.

I tried working in that kind of place for about a week. I get yelled at for being Japanese and decided that the world needed one less blond beach bum and knocked him on his ass.

[shrugged. he does have a temper and nothing gets to it more than poking at his nationality.]

Yeah, that would get you fired. Also, probably charged with assault. I can't say that I haven't been a victim of that sort of thing, though most people tend to ask why I am not actually working at a seven-eleven. Those people get decaf.

[She kicks her feet and shrugs.]

If it isn't, I wouldn't be all that heartbroken.

He didn't press any charges, probably cuz he was too shocked that I actually did something instead of mutter yessir. You really got to wonder about people and their attitudes.

Life's about making memories, right? so just see this as something you can point back at and tell people yup I did that.

You could wonder, I suppose, or you could not bother as it is probably a waste of time.

Would that count as bragging? Not that I'm overly humble, but I like to be able to categorize things.

Yeah, especially when someone says you never done anything exciting. You just have to give details unless you wanna.

Workplace gossip is literally the best thing about working in menial jobs. [She is genuinely cheerful about this. Shittalk is so beautiful sometimes.]

Well, I think that I have a right to brag about certain things. They are just not all that impressive to most people.

Mm, although I don't think I can stand being the center of gossip for longer than a few days.

Then most people are pretty boring.

Well of course not, being the center is awful. It's mostly just nice to sort of talk to people about other people. Less mean, more informative. [Kanti likes knowing everything about people. For reasons. You know.]

Oh, that's actually rather flattering, but I think it is just that most people find insects and plants sort of tame. Or disgusting. Mostly the second thing, really.

Nah, they can be interesting. People just don't see it that way, especially when they get a bug down the back of their shirts.

Exactly. There are good and bad sorts when it comes to gossip.

And I would never do that to an innocent little bug. The things it would see, the poor dear.
