Action / Semi open
Who: Bakura, Chris, Lyall & Aaron
Where: The Dead District
When: 4/11, late afternoon [Assuming the statue is up then]
The Dead District wasn't unfamiliar territory for Bakura. The allure of Urban Exploration to the young occult nerd was far too strong, as was the promise of places that no one would care about getting just a bit more ruined.
The reason this day was somewhere in between. It had been a week of bad days since Paul's death and going out into the familiar and strangely comforting section of town. Maybe it was because of the strange memories that he felt so drawn. The place that he remembered seeing being destroyed... Kul Elna... It was far too easy to connect the two in his mind.
[[OoC note: This log will have multiple sections, some open, some closed! Please wait until they're up before tagging in! Thank you!]]

Didn't mean he was patient about it, however, as he checked his watch.
...yeah, he was early. Dang it.

She was late, actually, but she always was. If Bakura knew her well, he'd probably started arriving late for things too.

"Because I need to cool off and it's quiet," he answered, kicking at the ground a bit. "It's not that bad... just because it's old."

She checked herself. She'd been a bit crankier than usual lately, and that said a lot.
"I get how you feel. But still, let's make it quick, right?"

oops :V at this point I've stopped caring about oh nooo fourthwalling!!!!
Yeeaaah, it's kinda hard to avoid. It'll likely just be a clusterfuck when memories are fully back.

But this wasn't that god. No, this was like the abomination that had been built in the center of the city that been slaughtered. A monument that spoke of a dark, unnatural power standing in the middle of the land of death, seeming to be trying to push him away.
His shoulders hunched as his fists clenched as the anger over Paul's death and the memories that had erupted as result of it boiled up inside him, his breath starting to quicken.
No. No this wasn't anger. This was hate, raw and venomous as it sung in his ears like the screams of the unwillingly sacrificed, darkening his vision until all he could see where the mocking echoes of memories that were not his.
Without any conscious thought he launched himself at the statue, fist flying out to smash into it with every ounce of his hatred.

Thankfully he wasn't too far off. He didn't catch Bakura immediately, and the boy got a couple punches in, but he did grab at the back of his shirt. "Ryou Bakura!" he barked, teacher-voice and all.
((lemme know if that doesn't work D= ))
S'all good!

"Bakura, cut it out!" he snapped, somewhere between irritated at him for making such a scene and nervous that he was about to get a black eye from a student. And him with no ability to putting him in detention at the moment.

The statue could wait. Even though he could already feel it poking at his brain, feel the slowly elevating stress.
SCREW IT
But...
"... And so as you can see, despite the conversion seeming to be quite complex, in reality it is very simple, requiring only..."
"Is this lecture over yet?" he sighed to no one in particular. Why, oh why, did the Academy insist on such archaic methods as lecturing? He'd downloaded this information cycles ago...
She blinked. That wasn't even English, but she understood perfectly, what..
Sigh. Working again, work work work, draining the energy of this miserable planet for conversion, and then --
ow as something heavy hit his head.
"You disgust me!"
But through those strange memories (cold and steel, what?) there was something... else...
E=MC squared, I know that, but the conversion of matter to energy and energy to a quantum state between matter and energy shouldn't be so easy... my god how simple, why didn't I see it before?
*pat pat*
It'd happened again.
Shit.
He blinked once before the throbbing pain in his hands caused his attention to look down at the white fingers deepening to an angry red.
...oh fuck. Had he....?
three echoes in one thread! :D
Pardon me jumping order~
it's cool dude

Lucky for him there was a clinic nearby....

So, of course, he was going to go see it.
Aaron's steps were sure as he picked his way through the Dead District; he came here often, and it held no fear for him.
At least, it usually didn't. The closer he came to the statue, the more he felt like he ought not to be here -- the more he wanted to leave. Strange.
But before he could consider further, he spotted a commotion over by the statue's base. A young man with white hair was holding his hand in a way that said "injured." Aaron's long strides made short work of the distance, and he called out, "What's all this about?"

"Nothing to terrible," he answered, trying to smile. "We just had a little run-in with a fist and some stone...."
Teal says Chris can be skipped for now.
It wasn't fine. Nothing about anything was fine. His hand ached, his head ached, nothing felt right. But he didn't want to deal with another person who would ask questions right then. He felt like he had been punched by something huge --Obelisk-- it's name was Obelisk-- and the pain echoed in his soul.

But his eyes did narrow a little when that hand touched the statue. No freezing or strange pains or unexpected anger, just a brush. Very different from the rest of them.

"I said it was fine!" he snapped, shoulders hunching in a moment before going slack once more, breath a touch quicker. "It's fine..." he repeated, forcing his voice back to normal as he tried to push the memories back. He'd already dissociated once, he didn't want to do it again...!

"I am," he said, without looking at Lyall. Then, Aaron's manner softened. He dropped to one knee, aware that his height could be threatening. He spoke quietly and calmly. "Listen, my clinic isn't far from here. Ten minutes' walk, at most. It's quiet, and you can rest there until you're calm again." Hopefully there wouldn't be a rush of patients waiting for him when he got back -- but even if there were, there was a room or two in the back where Bakura could be alone and breathe. "Come on, out of the street with you."
