I've booked a party room at a local arcade near the pizzeria at [address and street does here] for Sunday. We're booked under the guise of a gaming club so if you have trouble finding the reserved room towards the back of the arcade, the attendants there ought to know it as simply an as-yet unnamed gaming club meeting.

A webcam feed over the network should be available for those who wish to view the meeting but are unable or unwilling to attend.

Likewise given this guise, I would like to learn more about gaming in general. I have planned for this to be my primary 'reason' for having set up this 'club' if asked by others. Anyone who attends is welcome to likewise say they are attending for such purposes, as well as recreational ones.

[Following this bit of surefooted and confident talk, the teen clears her throat and looks aside. The mood fades from that confidence to something more reticent.]

If I may address something more personal...

[She shifts in her seat now.]

I've remembered something that doesn't place me in the best of lights, I'm afraid. Or... ah, the other me. Or the me I was before. I'm not certain how to address her yet. Someone told me to accept that was who I was and isn't who I am now. The feelings however...

[And Audrey sort of trails off lamely there, lips pressing together.]

Unpleasant memories are different when they involve someone other than yourself as well.

What type of gaming are we talking? FPS, RPGs, card games, everything in between?

And honestly... we only have fragments of what's gone on before. Unless you know why you did something, you can't really judge it, right? For all you know, you might have been like... some sort of freedom fighter who had to do horrible things in the name of saving space orphans or something like that.

I'm not sure saving space orphans was much of my calling even then. You're right though, when it's just bits and pieces you can't know. It just makes me wonder what sort of person she must have been.

A mixture of all of them, I believe. Honestly I can't say I personally know much about any of them, save a few standard card games.

I'll come to the meeting, but I dunno much about gaming either. [A low chuckle] Doubt that'll be a problem, though, 'cause I think almost everybody else on here does.

[There's a long pause, and when he continues, his tone is much more serious than before.]

I know how you feel, believe me, but we're not those people--and we don't have to be them either, right?

No, definitely not. I had never thought of becoming her but... how much separation can one have when there are real feelings with those memories, I wonder.

It does seem that way, doesn't it? I was more of a reader when I was younger.

It is, yes. The game club part is intended to be a cover for meetings to share information, resources and such among numbered individuals.

I've yet to receive any memories myself, but I don't think you should let those feelings affect you. As hard as that might be, you have lived an entirely different and separate life. If you start letting it bother you, I'd only imagine that things would go downhill from there. You'll likely loose yourself.

Sorry about this, but what is the meeting for exactly? I can't seem to find a post about if it exists.

I'm attempting to start a group in order to prepare for the supposed coming alien invasion. I believe I mentioned it some... give me a moment.

There. It's more for support, fact finding and coming up with ideas for how to combat the invasion if it should happen. Plus it might be nice to get to know others on the network as more than simply other numbered people, don't you think?

I've scheduled the meeting from 5pm to when they close in the evening around midnight. Since it's a meet and greet sort of thing this time around, it seemed like a large window of time would work best.

I remembered turning down a marriage proposal from a man by referring to it as going from being trapped in one prison to trapping us both in another.

Thinking of whoever I was before as not being me has proven to be more easily said than done.

... It has for me as well, I'm afraid. I think the hardest part is when new memories bring new emotions with them. When you can actually feel what they felt, it's not impersonal enough to be considered just them.

[Regina can't help but feel awkward at the last part of Audrey's feed. Just the concept of actually being someone else is just baffling in her opinion, but it's not like she'd relate to it anyway.]

It does seem like I'm thinking over it a little too much. It wasn't murder, no, but it did seem unnecessarily harsh.
