So my soon-to-be roommate and I are going to Vegas starting tomorrow. We're going to be driving there so it's basically a two day trip.
There's a lot going on around here and I hear some stuff's been going down there so we're pulling all the measures of caution, but I'm honestly excited because I've never done a road trip before like this! (Jacuzzi, if you're reading this I promise I'll drive safely. And we'll take rests.)
That said, not-so-hypothetical question this time: What's a good way to keep two people entertained for a trip like that? Or if we want to keep this hypothetical, what will YOU do on a two-day road trip?
I'd make a live recording of the entire thing but I feel like that's stealing an idea off of someone here who said he want to do a live blog sort of thing for his college life.
Bonus Question.
>> You're moving into your first own place and you get to choose any first purchase like a piece of furniture or decoration or anything. No need for realism it's all hypothetical. What will you choose?

I would pick up a small rock at every stop. By the end of the trip I would have a whole collection of rocks to remind me of the places I had been. Perhaps feathers as well, if I could find them.
As for your second question, I highly recommend a potted fern. They don't need much and are very soothing.

Plants, huh? A potted plant would be nice to have in a new home. Looks nice. Is that what you'd do for your own place, too?

Reminding oneself should be part of the game, don't you think? And it would be nicer if each one of them were unique in their own way.
Plants are excellent companions. A fern would have been my choice, but most of my current home was first furnished with some of my grandfather's furniture.
[Whatever was not sold with the old house after grandfather's death. Moving into a small apartment was more sensible and economical, after all.]

Your grandfather's, huh. But does that count as a purchase...?

[There is a short pause before he starts typing again.]
It doesn't, does it? Now that I think about it, the first thing I ever bought for my new home was a porcelain penguin figurine. I've been collecting them since then.
[There is even a picture attached!]

If you are coming to Vegas, I'd be happy to show you the Flamingo after work.

I'll be with my friend the entire time -- you won't mind if he comes along, do you?
no subject
Naturally. It is perfectly fine.
[ Usually, he is not up for this much socializing, but you know, cute animals.]

[ It is not like our innocent sightseeing plans will be thwarted by possessed sea life at all.]

Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to seeing you, then.
