So my soon-to-be roommate and I are going to Vegas starting tomorrow. We're going to be driving there so it's basically a two day trip.

There's a lot going on around here and I hear some stuff's been going down there so we're pulling all the measures of caution, but I'm honestly excited because I've never done a road trip before like this! (Jacuzzi, if you're reading this I promise I'll drive safely. And we'll take rests.)

That said, not-so-hypothetical question this time: What's a good way to keep two people entertained for a trip like that? Or if we want to keep this hypothetical, what will YOU do on a two-day road trip?

I'd make a live recording of the entire thing but I feel like that's stealing an idea off of someone here who said he want to do a live blog sort of thing for his college life.

Bonus Question.

>> You're moving into your first own place and you get to choose any first purchase like a piece of furniture or decoration or anything. No need for realism it's all hypothetical. What will you choose?

There's this deer in the met covered in these weird glass bubbles.

I want that.

I would put it right in the middle of my living room.

Also really, really good music or books on tape if you like that kind of stuff.

You really like this question game, don't you?

[SOMEONE had to be the smartass. FIRST SMARTASS TO ARRIVE DOES SHE GET A PRIZE.]

I hope you're going with someone you can talk to for extremely long periods of time.

unfortunately all my "keep from going crazy in the car" things only work if you're in an RV and not driving. pick up some audio books?

Music or audio books would be my pick of entertainment for a long drive.

As to your bonus question...a good bed will be my first purchase.

[Surprisingly, those seem like very normal, down to earth questions. He believes he can venture into the network to answer them. After all, those people are coming to Vegas, aren't they? The least he can do is show them some proper hospitality.]

I would pick up a small rock at every stop. By the end of the trip I would have a whole collection of rocks to remind me of the places I had been. Perhaps feathers as well, if I could find them.

As for your second question, I highly recommend a potted fern. They don't need much and are very soothing.

you should try burning a cd of music you both like or something.

oh and an indoor garden. that what I'd want

Have begun to find Neil deGrasse Tyson's podcasts quite enjoyable, but suspect I'm an outlier in that respect. Also, would buy bookshelf.

Dr. Mordin Solus. Contact me if in need of medical assistance in Vegas. Can be discreet about more esoteric changes.

Well, if it helps, we're planning on getting some snacks packed for you guys!

But I guess you could get some audiobooks or catchy music?

As for furniture, Isaac and I bought a nice shelf when we first moved in together!

Oh, was it? I thought it was that one painting of the field.

You think so?

[Yes, they really just typed all of that. What was that other thing about hypothetical?]
