Tuning Towers Underground Expedition

Who: Anybody who signed up on the OOC post!
Where: The streets around Tuning Towers, under the streets around Tuning Towers, and Barnaby's apartment.
When: Saturday night, 11/16, around 3AM.
What: The teams head into the sewers and subways, and eventually the Tuning Towers basements, in search of the source of the buzzing. See the OOC post linked above for more detailed info.

[[There is also a public network thread for radio chatter that anyone may participate in. Format is restricted to voice and it's happening at 3AM on a Saturday, but otherwise go wild.]]

[[Alright, here's how this is going to work. There will be separate threads for each group, along with a combined radio chatter thread that is network public. I have been informed that the mods will also put up a subthread for characters on the interference team to run afoul of the cops and get themselves arrested.

Friday night, Ravi made a network post to lay out the plan and the meeting time/place and get last minute volunteers, but I am handwaving this. If you want to say that's how your char found out and signed up, go for it.

This spreadsheet contains a list of specific teams. Most of the exploration squad assignments were decided by dice rolls. If you're unhappy with your squad, you are absolutely free to change it. I only ask that you try to keep the squads roughly even in size.

Characters will be instructed to bring flashlights (red if possible, because red light doesn't affect your night vision), gloves, nondescript/dark clothes, watertight footwear, and whatever else they think they might need. There will be dust masks provided (gas masks are too expensive, sorry y'all). Characters will also be encouraged to bring a small mirror and pre-write most of their network number on it, so that the last digit can be easily added if a live visual is needed. Medics should bring their own first aid supplies.

Aaron and Mordin's teams will be exploring the sewers, and Ravi's team will be exploring the subways. All 3 exploration teams will be converging when the decision is made to infiltrate the Tuning Towers basements. At that point, some coordination with the interference team will be necessary to get Ravi's team out of the subways and into the sewers.]]

[Julien fakes a laugh, then changes his voice and sings softly like Johnny Rivers, though this sounds a little more self-conscious than the actual song.]

Secret agent man! Secret... agent-man! They've given you a number, and taken 'way your name...

[Shou laughs and he starts singing along, but let's jsut say he adds his own flourishes to go with his perfect rendition of the song.]

[With his weird voice Julien can sing the guitar riffs so that it sounds like guitars playing, with just subtle differences. He's content to let Shou do the rest of the standard vocals.]

[but standard is just boring, so Shou will improvise the melody and harmony.]

[Jules has no musical training so here's some faltering like the guitarists got confused, and a game attempt to keep up, to not clash. ...it's not horrible.]

[It does take a second to sort of shift gears, but like everyone Julien knows this song. He prefers to focus on the percussion. Somehow he can sing stomp-stomp-clap. It doesn't sound quite like beatboxing, or like a recording, but not unlike either. Fucking birds, man.]

[he is just going along with the flow, singing it with his best English and once that song is done, he just laughs.]

Hah. I think if more of a musician got this voice they'd use it a lot better. Still, thanks! You're not half bad yourself.

Thanks! I come from a musical background, though it's a lot easier to switch up notes for a song you know than one you don't.

You know, with that ability, you can use it for all sorts of useful things. Could you imagine what would happen if you could hit a note that would scare away those dogs or something?

Oh, I'm sure! Me, I'm just casually interested.

I think dog whistles are supposed to attract animals... anyway, I don't think I can get that high. But I can talk in someone else's voice pretty well if I've heard them talking enough.

Actually, a dog's whistle hurts their ears a little. If you get the right note, it hurts their ears a lot and makes them wanna run away from the noise.

Really? Didn't know that! But I think you'd have to get someone else. I can't sing quite as high as I can whistle.
