I don't know if this has been asked on here before, but... [There's a momentary pause, as if he was trying to assemble his words. A shaky exhale is heard before he continues.] Has anyone else experienced war 'pulses'?

[He could have ended it there, keep it short and simple. But there was a another thing on his mind, despite being rather reluctant to share it.]

...There's a possibility that I might not be human anymore.

Not in the traditional sense, but I think there was one going on, where I was from.

[ A beat. The voice on the end is young, curious, but not overly polite, even with his next words. ]

This might be rude to ask, but what's making you not feel human?

Not 'traditional'? What do you mean by that?

[There's a brief pause from him.]

The 'pulse' I received... seemed to imply otherwise. The 'other me' was injured, but instead of blood, there was a 'second skin' that covered the wounds.

Well, I don't remember being involved in any battles, or seeing any up close.

[ He can't really count seeing a bunch of kids get incinerated, because that wasn't a fight, it was a slaughter. ]

But if it makes sense, there's... a feeling to a place, when it's at war. Even without having to witness it.

[ Not really a fine spin on it, but it's the best he's got. ]

So, did you heal?

It does. [But, he won't say any more on the subject.]

...Someone else mentioned that, but I don't think it was permanent.

Maybe it was more like a defense mechanism, or something. Was that the only thing?

It's a possibility, but I have nothing else to go off of. [A brief pause.] ...Yeah.

Possibilities mean you don't really have to feel like you're not human though. Possibilities could mean anything, especially if it was only a memory.
