[This feels ridiculous, but she has to ask it. Ever since that Echo about Allomancy hit it's been bugging her non-stop and this seems like the best way to figure it out. Normally she might have gone to one of her sources on this but it seems safer here, and easier to explain for that matter so she'll check here first.]
This is a weird question but does anybody out there know where I can find steel with as close to a 99-1 percent mix between iron and carbon as possible? And not a lot of it, just a couple of pounds at most. Maybe online or something.
[A pause. Okay, this might need some explanation even here.]
It has to do with one of those pulses or whatever they're called.

If you can't find someone with connections to the engineering dept you could try the art dept. Metalwork and jewelry. Idk if they use steel but it might be worth a look. Otherwise yeah online

[Don't worry, Alex, she'd only use it for a little bit of crime. Not really supervillain levels.]
Online then. Does this network thing let you use the normal internet too?
[Two blind spots in one conversation: comic books and technology. Great.]

I can help you out with that
Actually I got tools like some carbon bits. Idk the % but you could try those? Or check out Home Depot? Can you tell what kind of steel it is by looking at it?

It would make it a lot easier if I could, but no.
It's worth a shot. I think it can be a little bit off but that percentage works the best.
