[This feels ridiculous, but she has to ask it. Ever since that Echo about Allomancy hit it's been bugging her non-stop and this seems like the best way to figure it out. Normally she might have gone to one of her sources on this but it seems safer here, and easier to explain for that matter so she'll check here first.]

This is a weird question but does anybody out there know where I can find steel with as close to a 99-1 percent mix between iron and carbon as possible? And not a lot of it, just a couple of pounds at most. Maybe online or something.

[A pause. Okay, this might need some explanation even here.]

It has to do with one of those pulses or whatever they're called.

I would guess a steel mill would be your best bet, but I would also assume they generally don't sell such small quantities.
