[Hello all you crazy reincarnated people. Have a really confused looking young man with bleach-blond hair staring at you. He hesitates for a moment, looking a little speechless, before he takes a deep breath and gets up the nerve to say something.]

This is not at all what I expected to find when I Googled that number.

Sorry, I know I must be interrupting a lot, but can anyone tell me what's going on? I tried looking at a few posts around here but I just got more confused. Something about a death, and security concerns and...a general?

[He sighs and rests his chin in his hand, mumbling the last bit of this to himself.] I didn't just accidentally hack into something I wasn't supposed to see, did I?

That seems to be the case, for now. It might just be a matter of time.

I wonder if we're going to be happy when we do find out?

It's impossible to know until we do. Until then, the best thing to do seems to be to proceed with caution. The existence of this network is highly questionable... and that's without considering who else can see it or what it may eventually mean for us.

Right. But at least it gives us a chance to unite--separated, we're put at even more of an disadvantage.

Actually, if someone wanted us to be in danger, I don't think they would give us such an easy way to collaborate and share information.

It all depends on who that someone is.

And why us, to collaborate? Maybe there's something we all have in common.

I have no ideas on what that might be, though.

Yeah, me neither. Besides the numbers, that is. I thought strange memories would be the other thing we have in common but it sounds like not everyone has memories.

Were you plagued with strange memories?

[wordsgate]

I wouldn't say plagued, it's not an unpleasant memory. But there is one strange memory I have that doesn't seem to be something that actually happened to me.

And you're sure it wasn't just a dream of some kind?

[wordsgate]

Well, when I first saw it--remembered it?--I was awake, doing something that made me excited enough that I couldn't sleep if I wanted to. But no, I'm not sure it really is real. I actually thought it was a false memory, something I'd seen in a movie or something that I'd somehow became convinced was something I'd experienced.

But after hearing from other people here, I don't think that's right. I don't know if this is mass hysteria or something else, but something more complicated is going on.

... Yes.

Mass hysteria might make sense if people began to have experiences after they had connected to this network, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Right, true. And there doesn't seem to be a certain time point that we all had these changes and memories come up--I had mine three years ago, someone else first experienced it a few weeks ago...

The more we find out the more complicated it becomes.

At least for the moment. Maybe it'll be clearer what's happening when we know enough?
