This is not at all what I expected to find when I Googled that number.

Sorry, I know I must be interrupting a lot, but can anyone tell me what's going on? I tried looking at a few posts around here but I just got more confused. Something about a death, and security concerns and...a general?

[He sighs and rests his chin in his hand, mumbling the last bit of this to himself.] I didn't just accidentally hack into something I wasn't supposed to see, did I?

not sure how to convince her to leave, though. she loves her job and she wouldn't leave without me...I'm going to have to come up with some sort of excuse.

Yeah, that's the hard part. The 'rents would think I was crazy if I told them what was really happening...and everything else I've thought of sounds almost as crazy.

Has your mom got any vacation time coming up? Temporary fix, but it'd give you time to think of something else.

I could say she's overworking herself and that she needs a vacation but wouldn't take one on her own. That wouldn't even be a total lie...she's been working a lot of late nights.

That might piss her off if she finds out what I told him, though.

That's probably too much info. I'd go with something like she's been working really hard and you think it'd be nice if he invited her out to relax for a week or two. Maybe even tell him to make it sound like she'd be doing him a favor, or something.
