Um... though, for everyone who was involved in the Mine collapse -- what have you been telling your families and friends, in regards to your injuries? It's probably not a good idea to tell people who don't know about this network the truth, right? What do you think?

Candy stomach aches are the good kind!

[ He'd take a thousand of those over the kinds of aches they'd had to deal with recently. It makes him remember how her fingers had flexed earlier in the kitchen, stiff and halting. Being nearly shoulder-to-shoulder makes it easy for his fingertips to seek out her wrist, pressing up towards her palm. ]

You... really feel okay?

[ She hesitates for only a second before nodding her head, turning to glance over at him. ]

Yeah. I do now.

[ It's not really a sense of frailty about her that drives his concern, it's more the exact opposite. An immense weight he doesn't understand. Though the mm sound he makes is out of agreement, it's noncommittal. ]

If you didn't, would you tell me?

... I wouldn't want to.

I don't like to make people worry.

[ It's an honest answer, at the very least. ]

[ A faint smile quirks at his mouth. ]

It's only human to worry.

[ Is anyone paying attention to this movie ]

I know. But... [ she's quiet for a moment ] ... You're right. I'm sorry.

[ What there's a movie since when ]

It's not something for you to say sorry about. [ Instantly, his tone lightens some. ] So don't feel like you have to.

[ He wants so badly to take things at face value, but it's tough, and it's foreign still with everything that bursts so brightly in his mind's eye that he tries to hold back. So all he does is allow his fingers to spread across her palm and slip between her own, giving them a squeeze. ]

Heheh... all right. I'm sorry.

[ It's an instinct and she lets the other apology slip without too much of a thought. His hand feels nice against hers, warm and comfortable, comforting. ]

Free pass this time.

[ Though he can't sound even half as stern as he intends when she doesn't pull away. It's nice, and without pretense, and he doesn't realize just how much comfort it brings by simply being what it is. ]

[ Why would she want to pull away? Gosh, he's so comfy... he should consider being a profession pillow. ]

[ It's enough just to hear that from her, when this was all it took to feel like something was finally in the right place after so much wrong had happened. His response isn't much more than a quiet smile when he finally turns his attention back to the movie, even when his hand shifts contentedly, fingertips laying just so against her knuckles. ]
