Um... though, for everyone who was involved in the Mine collapse -- what have you been telling your families and friends, in regards to your injuries? It's probably not a good idea to tell people who don't know about this network the truth, right? What do you think?

That would be hockey or lacrosse, I believe; rugby is the game similar to American Football, only without padding.

Not at all — which will only help the illusion, don't you think? I prefer my sports to involve a little more ... distance, I suppose.

More a question of convenience than cleverness, I think. The best lies are those born of a truth, generally speaking.

That way it's not all made up and easier to keep together?

That's one reason, I suppose — they do say a good liar has to have an exceptional memory, don't they?

Though if you'd prefer, instead of the ubiquitous "they", Abraham Lincoln stated that there was no man with a good enough memory to be a successful liar. It depends, I suppose, on whether your memory and propensity for logic is better or worse than that of the individual you're lying to.

I think my biggest problem is that I don't really like having to lie.

If it's necessary, though, then I guess I'm going to have to get better at it. If they knew everything that was going on... well, I don't even want to think about what might happen to them! My family, that is.

That's very admirable of you. There aren't many people with such hang-ups.

I'd suggest simply bending the truth, in that case: you went exploring the local area with friends and weren't as careful as you ought to have been, for example.
