who: Hajime and Souji.
what: Aftermath of Collapsing Mine Adventure Hour. Talking about shit. Souji being a bad influence. The usual stuff.
where: Hajime's apartment.
when: Backdated to the morning after the mine stuff.
[They'd made it back late, tired and dirty and sweaty, and even despite his reflexes keeping him from having to eat more than a few hits from the creatures in the mine, Hajime was more than a little sore. This wasn't his forte. This wasn't what he was good at now, no matter how good he'd apparently been at it in some strange past life. He was good at "being a nerd," as Souji put it.
Maybe not quite as good at being a nerd as he should be, considering that usually he wouldn't have his homework left for the night before it was due, but summer classes tended to pack more in with less breathing room, and between everything else he still didn't have it finished.
He'd taken care of everything else first, of course. Cleaned off the sword that had appeared in his hand during the fight. Taken a shower to clean all the dirt and sweat off himself. Grabbed something to eat to make up for skipping meals while they were still stuck underground and trying to find the way out.
But there was still homework due tomorrow, and it wasn't going to do itself.
It was already late by the time he sat down and got to work.
It was still later when he finally lost his battle with sleep and passed out facedown on his textbook, even if he hadn't been watching the clock to notice exactly when.]

But he'd never felt more alive. There was a sword in his hand and a burn in his throat that spoke of unnatural hunger but he'd been able to keep that, at least, at bay.
But his apartment had seemed...lonely. Quiet. He'd tried his best to shrug off the feeling, cleaning the sword and half-drowning himself in the shower before collapsing on his bed.
He'd only been able to sleep for a couple hours when he'd woken, groggy, with nothing in his head but the thought of: Hajime has class. Hajime is Hajime and will therefore go to class like an idiot instead of resting.
He felt like a robot, mechanically rising, dressing, grabbing Hajime's apartment key and unceremoniously let himself in. The clock told him it was a little after 4am so she quietly took Hajime's phone and disabled the alarm, long with going around to check each clock and disable the alarm if it had one.
...He spends a long moment debating, before he picks Hajime up and carefully puts him to bed, before crawling in too to pass out beside him.
This'll be his good deed for the year. Santa will be proud.]

He didn't remember making it to bed last night. He didn't remember finishing, which probably meant he should cut his shower short and make time to double-check his work before he left because who knew what he might've screwed up if he was that tired -
- and then his gaze dropped to Souji, lying next to him, and things suddenly made much more sense.]
...Souji?
no subject
S'too early. Lay back down.
[Ain't no body got time for this 'being up early in summer' shit.]

He reaches over, fumbling for the clock and turning it to face towards him so he can see the face, and then makes a short, quiet, hissing sound. (Hajime doesn't swear.)]
Too early for you. I just overslept.
[He was sure he set that alarm - but there's nothing for it now but to rush everything, especially when he wants to check up on just how far he made it through the homework last night before he lost the battle to stay coherent, so he grabs Souji's wrist and tries to pry his arm off so he can get out of bed.]
no subject
I turned your alarms off. You're staying in bed even if I have to make you. [He can make good on that threat too. On his side of the bed, just in reach if he reaches over to grab it, lies the long scarf Hajime had acquired down in the mines.
He liked that scarf, Souji had decided. He'd like it even more if it kept Hajime in bed.]

I have class. I need to be up. Ergo, regardless of whether my alarms were set - [And really, it's only some combination of lingering fatigue and the realization at the back of his mind that Souji probably really did mean well by it that keeps him from making much more of a deal of that than he is right now.]
- I still overslept.
I'm so sorry this took like 5 years jfc just shoot me
[With those words hanging ominously in the air, Souji rolls over, grabs the scarf, and rolls back over to promptly straddle Hajime like it's the most natural thing in the world. He dangles the scarf with a nasty smile] Oh look what I've happened to find! This'll keep you in bed for a while, right?
So what's it going to be? You either be a good boy and stay, or I'm tying you to the bedposts. We just spent forever stuck in a mine fighting things [and Souji had suddenly developed a taste for blood which was weird and traumatic enough but he wasn't going to dwell on that right now thank you very much] and we're exhausted. I'm exhausted so i know you're exhausted. You could pass this class even if you only showed up to turn things in and do the final, you can miss one day.
GIRL, YOU'RE WORTH WAITING FOR. /swoon
It only makes it harder to ignore the fact that Souji is straddling him, which some part of him thinks shouldn't be a big deal. It's not like they haven't gotten various shades of up close and personal over the years, just from roughhousing and that kind of thing, but -
- but that was before Souji kissed him and he liked it, and that's enough to make this feel different. He can feel his face getting hot.]
You're being ridiculous.
and I will leave my glasses on...
--ah. [It's a simple noise, but the true meaning conveyed is more of a 'I see now.'
He leans down and curls his fingers around the other's wrists, pinning them lightly onto the bed-- it's an easy grip that Hajime could easily break out of if he wanted to because the last thing Souji wanted was for him to feel trapped. He was cruel and mean, but he--
He cared for Hajime. He might even go so far as to say he loved him, and for that reason, among numerous others, made Hajime special. He wouldn't let him feel afraid, not of Souji; he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he ever made Hajime afraid of him.
Souji's painfully aware that he's been silent for a good 30 seconds or so by now, plenty of time to leave his boyfriend (and that word in combination with Hajime made Souji's stomach do funny things and he could feel the giddy little grin tugging at his mouth that he had to put far too much effort into suppressing into a simple smirk)]
Do you have other ideas for keeping you in bed? I was thinking of sleeping, but if you have something else in mind... [ He laughs and lowers his head to kiss him, sweet and chaste]
no subject
- he just -
- he doesn't really know, but it doesn't really matter, because Souji's just given him a few more seconds to figure it out. Or not to figure it out, because kissing is awfully distracting that way, and when the kiss ends it takes a couple more seconds for his mind to catch up enough for him to actually remember that he was going to say something.]
I...no.
no subject
Because I can think of a few things. They're a lot more fun then just trying you up and leaving you or something. [He speaks between peppering light kisses on Hajime's mouth, shifting his hips slightly]
no subject
Still. Thinking of it is one thing. Admitting it?
That's something else altogether.]
Really.
no subject
Really really. [He lets go of Hajime's wrists, instead opting to slide them up under his shirt, dragging the pads of his fingers over the skin with a content noise.
The fingers slide to the hem of Hajime's pants then, playing with the edge and starting to slide them down when there's a tug at the corner of the bed. Souji freezes, confused and sits up in time to see one of the kittens climbing up over the side of the bed. Her siblings, seeing her be successful, follow in quick, curious succession the mewing becoming louder and more pronounced as they make their way up.
Souji heaves a sigh and leans over, pressing his head to Hajime's shoulder] The cats were a bad idea. I'm going to throw them in a river.
no subject
For all that he nags Souji for his behavior, he has to admit (if only to himself) that there's some appeal in Souji's willingness to break the ground Hajime shies away from -
- his eyes widen as Souji sits up, and he's about to ask what's wrong until he hears the mewing, and blushes as Souji leans into his shoulder.]
No, you aren't.
no subject
He sits up and looks down at his boyfriend, eyebrow raised in amusement] We'll continue this later when the children aren't around. [a low chuckle]
Oh, and you're still not going to class. You should go back to sleep, it was a long-ass night.
no subject
He sighs, turning his head to the side.
Sleeping. After that.
Right.]
no subject
I'll even make breakfast. Or lunch. Or dinner-- whenever we wake up.
no subject
Souji, offering to cook when he could easily get Hajime to do it?]
You really are serious about this, aren't you.
no subject
So are you going to behave, or am I going to have to really get rough?
no subject
[Because behaving is going to class like a good little student, not letting Souji talk him into this...this...delinquency.]
