I'm not sure what exactly happened two days ago, but I don't like it.

[Woah, is that.. yep! Regina has gained the ability to speak.]

I'd like to help out where I can, but... I'm not exactly fit to give anything. Unless anyone wants to pet me. I can let them pet me. That was weird, though... ever since I watched that video where that weird human was talking, I can speak human-talk.

[Her eyes widen a bit, and she perks up.] Oh, I have to talk to Gogo! Gogo and Fay and that boy that gives my humans "pizza" sometimes and likes talking to me, can you all please contact me? That is, assuming that you're all okay.

Well eating lizards doesn't seem safe, but my sister and I do it all the time. Even though they're really bitey if you don't get to them first.

Still.. they did look pretty strong. It wouldn't be very easy to kill them.

That sounds sort of painful. That's the thing though. Lizards are lizards. Those bats didn't look like bats are supposed to. They probably had some disease or something.

Mrrr... [She sighs.] Too bad, they would've made good meals at that size. Oh well... I'll survive.

Well, not really. I'm kind of an outside cat now. Just one that sleeps in a house. [This makes sense in her head.]

Do your humans still feed you?

Well.. yes.

They feed you and you sleep in their home at night. You're a house cat.

But house cats don't go outside.

Really? Well, I can't say I'm too knowledgeable about cats really. I had some friends when I was younger with cats and they all lets them out at times.

Well I am a cat and I say house cats stay inside and outside cats go outside.

I'll listen to the expert then. I guess it's different than with dogs since an outside dog is generally always outside, not even sleeping inside.

Dogs are dumb anyway.

I don't know. You can train a dog. From what I hear, you can't train a cat.

You can train a cat, but it has to be something a cat can use for themselves. For example... our humans trained my sister and I to hunt lizards and bugs, and taught us about the litter box. But you can't train us to sit or roll over when you ask. We wouldn't get anything out of that.

That's ... ok that's a pretty good point. What about fetching the paper?

Why would I do that? Those things weigh as much as me and the plastic around them is the only way to carry it and it tastes gross. And I don't get anything out of that.

I don't know? Do something nice for your humans?

If they drag in a cat condo for me by their teeth I'll consider bringing them the paper.

That's ... actually a good point. Pulling something like that can't be very comfortable. Sorry.

[Thomas is learning so much about cats. Mostly that they're exactly how people imagine them to be.]

Being your servant is a job for dogs, because they are big and dumb. Cats and small and smart, so they take care of themselves and - if you're lucky - their human too. I may bring you a meal or two but I'm not going to take your complaints if it's not something you want to eat.

I get it I get it. You have alot of very good points. I've never had pets so this has been very informative.

Well, you seem like a person who would want to own a dog. So I'd prefer you didn't get a pet.

... I feel like that's sort of an insult.

It sort of is. [Casual grooming is go.] People who want dogs are the people who expect to be loved by their pet no matter what they do, and have a servant for them. People who want cats understand there's more meaning in an actual friendship than in a servant.
