Like doppel-Nathan is going to miss this, right? We're talking giant robots, here. What could be cooler? And with him picking up one of his original's most recent Echoes . . . well.
Upon arrival, he just stares up at the mobile suits in wonder, rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet. There's a huge grin on his face, and if he weren't trying to prove he could take this seriously, he would probably be jumping up and down. Giant. Robot. He gets to pilot a giant robot! This is the best thing ever.

His exuberant attitude hadn't been the most encouraging thing before this started, perhaps. The utter glee on his face hadn't spoken of someone you'd want to trust with a giant robot. Doppel-Nathan gives off the air that he'll either be incredibly irresponsible, or completely screw up.
But when it comes to the training proper . . . he seems to be handling it very well. Hell, if any of the others are having some trouble there, he may even be able to give them a couple of pointers.

As awesome as pilot training is, it's also hungry work. And so he can be found hanging out near the food during breaks, not being terribly picky about what he's eating. Why be picky? It's actually a point of sameness between him and his original. But that may be about where the sameness ends, because doppel-Nathan is incredibly chatty. If you're near the food, he will talk to you whether you want him to or not.
"I can't believe I get to do this, man. Isn't it the coolest?"

She's surprised at how much she likes Nathan. She didn't expect him to take any of this serious, but he's doing a very good job so far, and actually adapting well to his machine. When he asks, she can't help but laugh.
"That it is," she said. "You've been doing very well, you know."

"See? I told you I'd be good at it!" Said in that same exuberant tone, and around a bite of food. What are table manners?

"Your ego needs a bit of work, though," she said, taking a small bite of her food and swallowing. "Also, I spent a lot of time on those snacks you're eating, so..."

He isn't nearly as sure anymore. Doppel!Nathan will get an incredulous look at the greeting. Because sure, it is, and he agrees with all of this, but does the older boy really need to phrase it like this?
"It will be very useful once we can manoeuvre them well."

And of course he has to phrase things that way. When you're doing something cool, you shouldn't make it sound all stuffy and boring.
The incredulous look doesn't bother him; doppel-Nathan is nowhere near as self-conscious as his original. He does tilt his head a little bit at Fe, trying to figure out if he's seen him before. The kid looks kind of familiar, but doppel-Nathan doesn't have the best memory.
Nah, not quite clicking. Oh well. "Awesome as hell, you mean. You just get up in the air and . . . fwooom!" He waves one hand through the air to demonstrate.
This is probably not helping the impression he makes.
