{006} Log: Visiting Hours
Who: Misa and YOU
What: At the wrong place at the wrong time, Misa was bitten by a now vampiric Stefan and had a good deal of blood drained. She survives thanks to a blood transfusion and timely care, but spends a few days recovering in the hospital. Come visit her!
When: April 21-26
Where: NTT Medical Center Tokyo
It has been a rough week for Misa. There was the fallout from the Kappa rampaging, the Parliament meetings, all the unpleasant encounters that inviting a host of guests into your one-bedroom apartment brings. One person she has been crushing on has turned out to be dating a man, and the other person to capture her romantic attentions has now attempted to kill her.
Now seems as good a time as any for the end of the world.

He knocks softly before entering her room, opening the door slowly and taking a slow seat near her bed. He seems very much like someone attempting to sneak up on a rabbit without startling it into running away, though Misa looks like that's the last thing she can do right now.

But then, having not recently attempted to kill her, Lazarus is still the lesser of two evils where her romantic interests are concerned.

"I heard you're holding up OK, considering, but... what exactly happened? I don't know details."
They're not talking about that, not unless she brings it up first and gives him no choice but to address it.
no subject
"Stefan happened. He's a vampire now."
Misa pauses, sighing to herself. That might not be a fair portrayal of what happened. It is what happened, but she is still confused about the why and the how and if it was premeditated or not.
"He got in some sort of accident, I was going to drive him to the hospital. Then he bit me."

Bet Tony's one of the last people she expects to show up with a little box of chocolates and a quiet knock on her door frame. Hey there, Misa, you awake and not completely furious?
no subject
"Hi," she mutters, tired but also bored and in want of company.
no subject
"Hey, heard through the grapevine you ended up in here. How you feelin'?" He strides in and wordlessly sets the chocolates on her bed. Presents!
no subject
She glances down at the chocolates, and smiles. "Thank you."

Waiting until nearly everyone else has gone for the night, he quietly opens the door and leans against it. His hitched, uneasy breath is the only thing that betrays his presence. He's already compelled the nurse to allow him to stay long past visiting hours, even if the language barrier had kept the conversation going longer than he'd anticipated.
He's holding onto a box of homemade cupcakes, courtesy of his little sister, as he dares to look in her direction. "Hey."
no subject
"What are you doing here?" she asks in a tense whisper, obviously fearful that he has come for a second helping of her blood.
no subject
Stefan nearly chokes on his own words, instead holding up the box as a peace offering. He shouldn't have stopped by. He knows he shouldn't have, but... if they weren't going to have this conversation now, when exactly were they?
"I won't stay long," he finally says, swallowing his own saliva as he stares down at the box. "I'm uh, I'm not hungry. I promise."
no subject
"... Have you attacked someone else?" she asks blankly, without looking up at him. He said he isn't hungry, after all. Is that what he means?

He knocks softly at her door when he reaches her room, cautiously pokes his head in. "Is it alright if I come in?"
He'll understand if she's not up for it, if he's not quite welcome for whatever reason. But she's been kind enough to him despite obviously finding things about him off-putting that he feels he should come and check in on her.
no subject
"Of course, come in," Misa answers, touched by the gesture. Unless there's some other reason for his presence...?
no subject
And it isn't the first time he's expressed concern over Misa's well-being. Here's hoping he doesn't accidentally foul it up like he did at the pancake breakfast?
He steps in quietly, and yes he still has that backpack. Whether he plays with the toys or not, he just likes to have them there. He'll at least make an effort not to. It bothers her and this is a public place.
"How are you feeling?"
no subject
She smiles, belatedly realizing that Nathan might not pick up on that being a joke without some sort of cue. Not that it's a particularly good one.

...or not really, because he just made sure to buy a nice, big bunch of flowers to hide behind. Getting out might be a trick, but he was pretty sure he could handle bailing out of a window if he had to. Transform to the Four of Hearts, the Dragonfly Undead, and he could fly away in a worst-case scenario.
He knocks gently at the door, and he sticks his head in. He's looking over his shoulder, making sure no one has noticed his presence and is alerting security. "You taking visitors?"
no subject
"I am if it's you," she answers, giggling at the way he glances over his shoulder. She was mostly unconscious for the ride to the hospital (and in retrospect, she is thoroughly glad of that), but Misa has certainly heard tales from the hospital staff about his reckless driving.
no subject
And it is at this point that he's remembered that yes, he is holding flowers. He should do something with the flowers. Maybe gesturing awkwardly with them and searching for a table would be good. "I, uh, brought you something."
no subject
"You really are my night in shining armor!" she teases. Her smile falters a moment later as an echo thrums through her body, marked by a faraway look in her eyes and a hitch in her breath. It isn't anything visible, but the knowledge is heavy and unwanted in her mind.

"Misa? May I come in?"
no subject
"Are you... well fed?" she calls at length.
no subject
Emilia would rather avoid that. Not that Misa would get far, since the vampire is very quick. Much faster than most humans.
no subject
"You can come in," she said at length, still tense and with obvious hesitation in her voice. She would have very much liked to tell Emilia to go away, but she just couldn't find a good enough sounding reason to do it; not after popping that question. Any protest of being too tired for visitors would have been transparent. "Please... don't come too close."
