Mission - Pancakes / Backdated to the morning of April 3rd
Who: Tony and anyone awake at Willow Ridge after the Kidnapping Incident
What: Demon be hungry, so that means pancakes for all.
Where: Willow Ridge kitchen
When: Morning of April 3rd, after Nathan's rescue
Warnings: Possibly some recollections of violence, but otherwise only pancakes. Maybe eggs. We'll see.
Dressed in jeans and a light T-shit, one could almost forget just the night before he'd been barely able to walk under his own power and bleeding all over himself. Quite the change, though watching closely it was still evident Tony was a little tender and sore. Moving stiff and careful while he cooked.
As it turned out, healing was hungry business. Fortunately Willow Ridge was equipped with a well enough stocked kitchen, and Tony with a little skill instilled by Hajime. Despite his best efforts, he still couldn't really use chopsticks with any kind of efficiency. Fortunately pancakes only required a spatula.
Stacks of them, in fact. The first attempts, under-cooked or over had already been eaten, but now he was on a roll. Why not ask him why he's cooked so much, or join in to help devour the abundance? Surely, he figured, the others would wake soon and they'd be hungry as well. Though likely Tony was far over-estimating their hunger by comparing it to his own.

"I'm not hurt much. I feel okay. You're in worse shape."
Physically. Emotionally is another matter entirely, but Nathan isn't feeling much of anything that way right now. A problem in and of itself, but eventually it will rectify. His feelings will switch back on at some point. Later.

Which isn't the most pleasant of thoughts, but whatever. She takes a gulp from her orange juice, eager to rehydrate as Nathan suggested.

How tactful of you, Nathan. But the simple truth of the matter is that Misa looks awful. In comparison, Nathan looks essentially as he always does. Which while not precisely a good thing, is better than any alternative the previous night could have provided.

"I'll get cleaned up after pancakes," she mutters sourly.
no subject
"It isn't anything to be ashamed of. It was . . . a difficult night."
no subject
"Maple, blueberry, or strawberry?"
He understands very well why Nathan's acting like he is, but isn't going to bring it up and embarrass him. He'll talk to Misa later.
no subject
"Uh, strawberry, please," she says, reaching mechanically for a fork. "Anyway, I wouldn't usually come out of my room looking like this."
no subject
"It's fine."
Right, pancakes. He should eat, now that he's done making sure Misa is taking steps to alleviate her hangover. He picks up a fork himself, cuts into the top of his stack.
no subject
"S'fine, I don't think anyone 'round here minds. Rough night and all."
Very rough. Does he need to stay and continue looking after you two or can he eat his own pancakes now?

Nathan had actually slept well, if virtually passing out still counts as sleeping. He's fairly rested, all things considered. Yet still worn-out enough to not even register much about Misa's state of dress. He would probably be acting awkward in a bit of a different fashion had he really noticed she isn't wearing pants.

Come on, Misa, once you've been witness to both fraud and probable homicide (even if it was of a man made of feathers), why not round it off with a little pantless breakfast?
Since he doesn't have much else to offer, Tony's content to leave the other two alone. Pancakes fix everything!
no subject
"I'm glad if everyone slept well."
She certainly wouldn't have been able to drift off without a little help, after all that happened.
no subject
"Tension breaking after approximately two weeks of accumulated stress and lack of sleep lends itself well to that."
Okay, he doesn't sound the least bit like a normal person, but at least he's not accidentally insulting her appearance anymore?

For him, anyway. Tony and Lazarus hadn't gotten involved until a few days later, after Nathan had analyzed the virus the double had tried to get onto the school's computers. So in retrospect, all those long hours Nathan had been working over that span may begin to make more sense. He didn't sleep much because he couldn't. He'd been too worried over what might happen.
"It's good that it's over. Bad that it ended the way it did."
She'll get no argument from him on that point.
no subject
"At least now you can get some sleep, and don't have to be working all night."
no subject
"Yes."
