[It was just past noon in Germany when a call went out, the video revealing a young woman with black hair and uniform shifting uncomfortably in her seat. She looked to be in a break room of sorts. When she spoke she had a moderate French accent with a touch of German. It seemed English wasn't that strong.]

"Hello everyone... Um... My name is Celine Blanchefleur. I was advised to make this broadcast in English but I can speak French and German as well. I've been numbered for a short while now and I really don't know... anything. At all. Well much."

[She was extremely nervous, though not really distressed. Perhaps she just wasn't used to asking for help, or maybe it was simply the nature of the help she was requesting.] "I thought I might see if anyone can tell me anything. Or be willing to answer some of my questions. Honestly though I do not know what questions I'm supposed to ask. Or where to even start. This is all very new to me."

[Pausing, eyes wide, Celine opened and closed her mouth once, just... just staring at the screen. It was, by far, the strangest thing she had seen in a long while. Well not counting the vampire that had walked in a week before, but still...]

H-Hello. It's nice to meet you? [She didn't mean to make it sound like a question.] Should I even question why you're handcuffed to another, identical person?

[It's pretty strange, but he approaches her question/observation as though it's the most natural thing in the world.

I want to "do no harm." I'm like a doctor that way. Unfortunately, my doppelganger doesn't feel similarly and has a lot to atone for.

Yes. This is a recent development within the last month or so... some of us have identical copies of ourselves running around, opposite in nature. Some are harmless, some not so much.

[He gives a slight yank on the chain; his gagged double flinches and looks away.]

Stay on your guard. That's the best advice right now... also, remember that even if things get terribly weird, you aren't alone.

"I see... So does this mean I have a dopple running around to? I'd imagine she'd not be much of a thread compared to, say, Emilia's."

Then again it was hard to compare anyone power-wise to Emilia. Though she really didn't have that perspective yet.

"And thank you. I will make sure to keep cautious. It can be very dangerous as I understand it..."

It may, and it may not. Not all of us have malicious doppelgangers, and not all of us have them at all. But if you're generally a nice person, I think the chances are a lot higher that yours, if she exists, is not...

Are you from France? Your accent and name make me think as much, but I have been wrong before.

I see... Well I wouldn't call myself especially nice. But I don't consider myself a bad person either.

Ah- yes. I was born in France but I later moved to Germany where I grew up.

I think that most honest people would make that kind of assessment.

Would speaking German be more comfortable for you? I am fluent.

[Immediately switching to German.]

Yes. Very much so.

And I wouldn't really call myself honest or dishonest... Simply average. Though I hope I don't have a dopple. I'm not sure I could put up with another me.

[The transition is quick and seamless.]

Good, I'm glad this was an accommodation I was able to make.

It's a very strange feeling to have "another you." Whether you like or dislike yourself... or you're "average" in that regard... it almost feels like a challenge. No one wants to think that the essence of what makes them unique is so easily replicable.

I would rather be average than overly extraordinary... Though I suppose what I do have are things like reliability and loyalty to those I care for. That wouldn't really make a dopple all that threatening though, would it?

At worst, I suppose she might be kind of flaky or a bit of a backstabber, but... that being said, I wouldn't have initially thought that mine was that bad, either.

If anything I thought he'd be good. Maybe even like my Other was.
