This has been a long time coming, but change can be difficult at times, as you all know. While things may be thrust upon us, out of our consent and control, there are still things only we can choose to do.

I discovered, some time ago, that the sword I carried is more of a tool than a weapon; most of us rely on those teleporter devices. I no longer have to. A quick walk through what I can only describe as a strange landscape, and I am a hundred miles away- albeit not just anywhere. My range appears to be dedicated to our already-known boundaries, though I am experimenting with them.

I'll be focusing on such for the next while. [he hesitates here, not quite sure how to continue, then goes on anyway] Should anyone need assistance with transport, I would be pleased to test myself with them as I explore just what this old body is capable of.

And before anyone asks, no, I don't believe that this is another me. I haven't even seen one of the sort, but I'll gladly take any information if someone's seen me beside myself.

It is pretty interesting that special transportations are limited like that.

It is. All I can think of is that they're somehow anchored, but that leads one to wonder - how are these anchors made? Could we make one ourselves?

Could we move one?

The statues, the strangeness, the lights...there must be a way to put these together to make a better sense.

More of the zones can be made. Leaving the zones means losing all of it, but it's hard to tell where the end is until you cross over. But we can also teleport between the zones.

So maybe it's an alternate dimension sort of thing? Since another dimension could be used for teleporting and that could be connected to the bleeding through of the zones?

I could describe my version of teleporting as going through another dimension - it certainly doesn't seem like anything I know. Colors and lights, but it's somehow soothing to me. I cannot say if it's the same for others.

What I would like to know is the specifics as to how these zones are made, but that can only be discovered through time and effort. And I've spent enough time sitting about, I feel.

It is. I'm hoping I'll be able to find out other ways to apply it, and if practice increases my skill and stamina. It can be tiring.

In what other ways might you think to apply it?

In my defense, I've also better stamina than most people half my age. Only partly in thanks to recent circumstances.

Well, other than transport - depending on how high one could get, or what position, I wonder if I could perform some remote observation.

I haven't done so in years! I prefer public transportation at my age. Not that I couldn't drive if I wanted to, I suppose, but that's all moot now.

Some places public transit just isn't feasible, especially if you're in a hurry. But yeah, I wish everyone was just as lucky.

For what it's worth, if there's a traffic jam and one has an emergency, I would hardly mind being of use.

That does tend to be the hope, in the end. There's the teleporter, yes, but if there are... other options, better to know of them before they're needed, surely?

Perhaps I'm being a tad paranoid, but I feel strange putting so much trust in them in the first place. At the same time, there have been no troubles with them so far...

But as you said, if there are any options, best we know and are familiar with them before they become necessary.

It is a rather interesting choice of form. But it reminds me of a letter opener, only instead of letters, I'm opening up space-time.

At least it has the good fortune of cleaning up what messes it makes.
