[Written in his cell phone, Arthur broke his period of silence as innocently as one ever could. He was seated on a big cushy chair in front of his cell, which was leaned on a table in front of him.]

I'm between job applications and my hand's crampin' up as a result. Anyone want to hang out, tonight? I managed to pass for 21 at the package store last night, so, y'know--

[He stared dumbly at the screen, realizing he said this aloud and where folks could seriously hear him and remember.]

We got a bunch of stuff. Er, y'know... Dependin' on what anybody'd like to play, right? Emi's house is mostly empty so it wouldn't be a big deal if we were a little loud, y'know?

[Okay, okay... She'll stop. She'd hate to tick of Emi too much. Seeing as she's her cousin's friend and all.]

Well... Come to think of it, weren't you at that Halloween party?

Halloween party?

[Oh, right. The free alcohol and dress up party. He couldn't ever go trick-or-treating in his neighborhood as a kid.]

Yeah, I went as Prince Cheery. [Charming.]

[Well, if she knew that, she'd say he's missed out.]

So yeah, I'm guessing the scary looking lady's your girlfriend, huh? Say, you know if Robyn's coming?

Scary? [Arthur blinked slowly at that. Other people could be intimidated by Emi all they wanted, but his worship remained strong--]

Ah--I don't really know Robyn, much.

[Yelena thinks Emi could be pretty cool. She's not sure about the whole killing thing, even if her targets were scumbags of the highest order.]

You'll get along with her, she's pretty adorkable too.

[His eyes narrowed and he seemed a little iffy about accepting that scrutiny--]

Really cute and kinda awkward at times.

That ain't me. I'm just flat out stupid, hear?

Eh, I wouldn't say that. Not from what I can see.

[She won't have any more of that kind of self-deprecation.]

Talkin' to me for just a minute? I'm not that stupid, but you'll have to gimme more time than that.

[She shrugs a little.]

Yeah, I know it when I see it. It's probably what got your girlfriend's attention.

Well, I don't think that's what got her attention... [He was an awesome hero, that's what he thought did the trick--]

I mean, even then, it'd be mean to say that kinda thing... It'd make her look bad, wouldn't it...? There's a difference between a low bar and one flat on the pavement. [Right while Emi was there, Arthur was flat out putting himself down left and right.]

Hey now, sounds like you better keep that to herself if it'll embarrass her.

[Was it her imagination, or was that girl's eyes glowing?]

She's just a saint is all. 'A handful' is putting me lightly, y'know?

You don't seem all that bad.

[He really doesn't as far as she can tell. She's starting to get the feeling he really loves this Emi girl, though.]

[Arthur shook his head, smiling a bit nervously.] You dunno the half of it. [Especially given his poor choice of phrase, there--]

Uh huh. Anyway, I can bring Robyn over too when this starts.

How's she doin' by the way? I'm bad at keepin' tabs on people.

She's been doing pretty well! Just hasn't been on the network all that much lately. School, I guess.

Ugh, yeah, I don't miss school. What is it, the start of finals or whatever?

I don't think is that... Maybe she's just keeping her head down or something.

Well... [He entirely forgot to consider that. He holed himself up with Emi a lot and when he did go out, Arthur looked so much alike any other kid his age, blending in was easy.]

I feel terrible. I didn't even think about that.

[Yelena shrugs at that, it didn't seem bad.]

No big. Maybe she's trying to remember those missing days...

[Arthur frowned inwardly. He thought about it awhile, but--he hadn't even considered the idea of offering anyone to use Avalon for anything. That man, Merlin, said that the sheathe was his greatest weapon and that no matter what, it would always heal him.

He didn't know if that could heal people's minds along with their bodies, but sadly he didn't even consider it as an option because of how inconsistent it seemed. It didn't cure Emi of her vampirism, after all.]

Wish I could help. We did a lot to pay those guys back, but it doesn't seem like enough.

Huh? This ain't about the Mafia, it's the days nobody can seem to remember at the start of this month...

[Personally, she wanted to see the mob beat up and locked away, killing people wasn't her thing at all...]
