[open] Let me play among the stars
Who: OPEN
When: The 18th
Where: The Orbital Tower
What: Explorations!
Warnings: If something comes up, please warn for it in your subject lines!
There has been word to the numbered that at 9:00am on the 18th (CET), a bus will pick up any numbered willing to have a look at the strange tower-building at the border. It will stop at Hotel Reutte as well as the parking lot at the lower end of the Pöllatschlucht Gorge and then drive any that have boarded out to the Orbital Tower.
The bus will be let through the fences that military and police put up and stop just outside the white walls. There, the driver will tell everyone to get out, and they will be met by Monika Hallbach and David Graibiger and one military officer of each of the involved countries. After a short introduction round, they will then lead the numbered into the structure. It is a large storage room housing a farm complete with two fields, a small pond and a number of cows grazing placently. The farmer will invite them into his kitchen and around the table, and with water or juice or milk in front of them, a few things will be taken care of.
> The numbered are supplied with passes that allow them to roam freely inside the structure.
> The farmer tells them how she woke up one morning and found herself, her farm and some of her fields inside a large white room. She seems pretty calm about the whole thing, with a mentality that shit happens and you gotta deal with it. She just wants the numbered to make sure that the whole thing is safe so they'll let non-residents into the structure - she wants to rent out her bed and breakfast rooms again.
> The four officials impress on the numbered, with a main emphasis on Eugen, that this is German and Austrian territory, and it is those countries' laws that are relevant in the whole structure, because it belongs to them. It is also explained that
> Everyone is given a walkie-talkie so they can connect to each other and all people stationed within the structure.
They are then let to their own devices.
[ooc: Below, threads with descriptions of what can be found will go up, one for each level. The thread for the second level will go up in a few days or once the elevator has been figured out ICly. Please direct all questions to the "ooc things" top level.
A note for the purpose of making the playing of stuff taking place after this log easier: There will be no violence in this log that is not initiated by numbered, and the only way for them to get themselves hurt will be echoes/their own stupidity/both.]
☑ An OOC thread for all your questions regarding what your character might know through their job, find when doing a certain thing, be able to figure out with their powers, etc.
☑ Everything that happens on the 18th before they are left to roam the structure on their own.

He'd found an old apple tree with small, hard fruit in its branches or scattered on the ground, worn initials carved into its gnarled trunk. "I think an owl roosts here. Or did."
no subject
His gaze follows Julien's to the old tree, "Perhaps." When he notices the initials, he smiles, "Looks like it's holding someone's precious memory."
no subject
"It is." Julien shifts his weight to one leg and brushes the letters with a long, clawed toe, using his foot like some kind of armored hand. "How long do you think it'll survive inside like this?"
no subject
He watches as Julien moves with a combination of fascination and curiosity but shrugs at the question. "Wouldn't be long without sunlight, unfortunately. It's a pity, but hopefully someone will make good use of it's wood, that way, it won't be wasted."
no subject
"They'll have to remove all the vegetation so it doesn't just rot. Maybe take the good soil out and sell it. It will never be like this again. I know, this is what happens every time something new's built." Julien casts a sidelong look at Eugen. "I'm pretty much just remembering something the other me said."
no subject
"Is that so? Something similar happened in your other life?" He asks, a brow raises in curiosity.
no subject
"Not exactly, as far as I know. But he talked a good game about, mm, the beauty of impermanent things, or things that are passing. Enjoying things that you know are temporary and not holding on because you can't stop time from advancing." Julien shrugged a feathery shoulder. "And he was using that as a metaphor for relationships, but hey, it applies."
no subject
"Sounds like rational guy either way." In a good way, as Eugen's tone suggests. He takes a deep breath before exhaling gently, and takes a step back to return to the officers who are waiting for him not too far away. "Let's go. We have a lot to do today."
no subject
"He's all right, I think," he admits, and bites the little apple again. He has a notion of keeping the seeds, the way he's kept the seeds from the similarly tiny apples he got in a pulse. "Sure, all right. I hope the animals can escape, at least. This'll be very bleak soon enough."
no subject
"Are you coming inside with us?" He's not entirely sure if Julien will be comfortable being indoor.
no subject
"Ah. Well..." He pauses, clawed toes digging into the dirt. "Depends how tight it is. Guess I might as well, it doesn't seem too dangerous yet." A shrug. "And if there aren't a lot of stairs."
no subject
"I'm pretty sure there are elevators and escalators inside so you wouldn't need to climb stairs." Not that he can't sympathize, he's actually pretty worried if Julien will be able to navigate inside with those clawed toes.
[[ OOC: Feel free to jump in if Julien is going up to Level 2 ]]
no subject
He shuddered theatrically, long feathers quivering with the motion. "Hah, escalators are worse! I'd hate to get a claw snagged in one of those. I can take a look, though. Think it's safe?"
no subject
Right, he really could do with a little less theatrical but he's not going to say that to Julien's face, at least not until he's sure the bird guy is trolling him. "Well, we'll use the elevator then. It should be, I've never remember any monsters existing in my other's world."
no subject
Eugen is so serious. "That's good. I'm not a fighter, and in an enclosed space I just get in the way."
