Well, dropped my classes for the semester at Locke U. Lost all my scholarships in the process, though that barely matters now. Transferred the part of my funds that were in local banks to a couple national investment banks. And got a first-class ticket to Vegas. Loaded all my personal stuff into some nice checked bags.

Anyone who's in Vegas and wants to help me find a good condo in the Numbers-friendly zone, I'd appreciate it. Money's only loosely an object, but no overkill please.

The penthouse is still mine, under an assumed name. I'm coming back once we've got a plan to deal with these creeps. Until then, I want anyone off-network or not verified trustworthy thinking I'm being a good little girl.

I... I don't like abandoning Robyn at a time like this, though. I really don't... Right now, though, the teleporter's our ace in the hole. Let them think I'm in Vegas until right before they're on fire, right?

You're not the only one that feels like we're leaving at the worst possible time... but there's too much at stake. We'll be back in an instant, if anything happens, but until then it's best if we play it safe and escape while we can.

Mama and Papa, Jasmine and Marina, and Lily and I are in hotel rooms in Vegas until we can return. I'm not sure how much help I'll be, but I wouldn't mind helping you look for a more permanent place out here.

Well, I can think of this in two ways.

The first is that we're fleeing to safety until we can figure out our counterattack plan. That's good.

The second is that I was kinda thinking of investing in a condo in Vegas anyhow, with all the investigations that come here. No reason not to just freaking go for it, right?

Agreed, on both counts. Now that Mama and Papa are out of the city, I'm not going to take this lying down. But that lobster under the city bothers me, too. So we need to pick our battles carefully.

I think you're making a sound decision with a condo, although finding one in the barrier might be expensive... not that it's a HUGE concern for you, now.

Yeah. It would be kinda nice if the barrier expanded a time or two, but I'll handle.

You need to suppress feelings like that. That's part of learning how to survive. Trust yourself and the people you've been trust in.
