I'm sorry if no one could contact me for the last two weeks.

And I have a question for the Network.

How common is it for people to temporarily lose all their echoes?

[For anyone who knows her in real life and might have paid attention, she was in the hospital for a good chunk of that time. Nothing like relapsing illnesses.]

Eh, a few other people ended up coming along so I had some company. It wasn't so bad.

Huh. That sounds kind of weird, so it was just kind of going one minute and then just kind of stopped? It almost makes it sound like your heart is just kind of lazy.

A group mall trip does sound pretty fun.

[She may have laughed RL. Also kind of morbidly true in a way.] It really is. Perhaps I need to give it a raise. But yes, that was more or less what happened.

Maybe sit down with it and give it performance review. Say you're willing to give it a raise but you'd like to see it take more initiative in it's job.

It was pretty fun. ...You know what? I might be fun to do it again too. I'm sure a few people would like the idea of going as a group.

[Her eyes kind of drop down toward the floor.]

...Especially after all mob attacks recently.

It may even get a promotion~

I think so. I wouldn't say no to an invitation.

Ah. Yes. I heard about those. How bad have they been?

...Did you see Danny's video about it? I was with him when it happened.

With the hostage? Have you two been working together?

The hostage got out fine, didn't they?

We had been. W-we kind of agreed that it's probably for the best that we don't do it again after that...

[Robyn pauses for a moment before continuing.]

Kind of... She got hurt, not as bad as Danny but still...

Why would you stop working together? That doesn't seem like it'd be any safer.

There are a couple reasons...

One being that I'm taking a little bit of a break from the whole superhero thing.

It wasn't really working out very well...

What happened?

[Robyn gulps when Danielle switches over to video. This wasn't really something she wanted to talk about, but she trusted Danielle so she might as well give it a try.]

Well... It was just me and Danny, there wasn't a third person. They got us to follow one of them into an alley.

...They grabbed me and well- [She pauses and takes a deep breath.]

-I was the hostage.

[Well, was voice, but video works too. AS is, she's looking thoughtful.]

[She's not surprised. Kind of made a guess when she realized she Missed Something.]

What kind of ability echoes do you have right now?

[Robyn glances up nervously at the screen.]

Uhm-I can generate rose petals every no and again? And I can run pretty fast.

[She's not going to mention that she got the whole running fast thing AFTER the mob attack.]

How fast and how precise is the turning? Any martial arts training?

I-I haven't really tested that extensively... I'm going to say it's alright.

No, I haven't got much of that. More now than I had then.

[She hangs her head. She's already been through this in her head. She's learned pretty quick after that night that she was in over head and shouldn't have been out there.]

[She nods, considering.]

You were out too early, for the hero thing. Danny was too, honestly. You need to figure out the clever tricks for when just charging ahead doesn't work.

At least super speed is pretty versatile, if you do have a good amount of control.

Yeah... I've had that conversation with a few people now.

Well except there was a whole lot more yelling involved.

...Danny too? He would have been fine if I wasn't around.

And well I wouldn't quite call it super speed? It's faster than I could run before but It's not like zooming around fast.

Yelling seems like it'd just make you feel worse and that on top of being taken hostage... [Well, you're probably already traumatized.]

Danny is playing superhero. There's too many crimes that involve innocent bystanders in danger. Just because it was you this time doesn't change the fact if it was anyone else, he'd still be in that situation, and it's a situation that can happena gain. He has the ability to get hostages out safely, better than most powers here, but he didn't think to apply them that way.

Oh, that does change it. Maybe we should see how fast it is. Being extra fast still has it uses, but it'll probably require more training.

[Yeah. Traumatized is a good word for it.]

Well. My aunt found out about the whole superheroing thing and the mob attack the night it happened.

...She's a cop and wasn't too happy to find out about either things.

I guess you have a point about that. He did what he could at the time, though. We couldn't have guessed they'd try something like that.

[A beat.] Yeah, I've been meaning to get out and give it some more work, find exactly what I can do with it.

That seems to be going around.

I know, but it's better to think of those scenarios. The common ones, at least.

You might want to see about martial arts classes. Even if you're not superheroing, you're still a target for a lot of things. It's better to be prepared.

You could come to my house. We do have some gym equipment, could test your speed on a treadmill. And no one really pays attention to what I do in the backyard.

I've got my aunt teaching me a bit and another numbered girl, Blaine offered to teach me a little too. Going to see how that goes and then I might look into a martial arts class at some point.

[She'd like to go back to the superheroing at some point, she just knows now that she's completely unprepared for it.

She mulls over the idea of going to Danielle's for a little. It would be good how much she's improved with her new found speed.]

Y-yeah, that sounds like a good idea... If we wont get caught or get you into trouble that'd be great.

That's good to hear. Remember to tell them about your speed. Brute force doesn't mean much if no one can actually land a good hit.

We won't. I know a good place that can't be seen from the window and the groundskeeper's schedule. [She has a GROUNDSKEEPER.] And I won't get in trouble. As long as I do what I'm supposed to, they don't really care what I do with my free time.

Y-yeah, that's something I hadn't really done yet.

[Not that she didn't want to, she just wanted to know more about what she can do before she told them. ...and she didn't want her aunt thinking she might go out again at some point.]

Groundskeeper? [She knew Danielle had money but not THAT much money.] Well if I can help you do what you're supposed to I will, but I really appreciate the help.
