[Here, have a wide-eye bleach blond, network. He's sitting in on a curb, ignoring the fact that his leather pants might be damaged by whatever garbage is laying around, and looking like he just seen a ghost or something. Then he goes from scared to completely pissed off, though it's still not about the expensive pants. Nope, it's about the car since he turns the camera to face the poor thing with a damaged front end sitting in the ruins of what had been a couple trash bins.
He doesn't turn the camera on him as he addresses the general public.]
I got run off the road by a fucking keukegen!
[Because that's the only reason why he would have swerved. He's not that bad at driving ridiculously fast cars after all. The tow truck appears and he takes the camera off the car in order to pout a little. He's bleeding but he doesn't care.]
Okay, it didn't run me off the road but it still popped up in front of me without a warning. Fucking thing's gone now and I don't even know what I've seen except it was hairy and not exactly big. If I didn't know any better I'd call it a stray dog or something, but...
[There's an officer chatting with the towing people before turning and making his way back to Shou. Shou sighs - dramatically.]
Gotta go.

[A little more dramatically than she had, of course.]

Mm, yeah. I didn't hit it though so it must've move pretty fast.
[He's agitated so his English has gotten pretty slurred.]

You're not the first person on the network to talk about a little hairy man, though.

I didn't get that good of a look at it. Looked more like a keukegen - a lotta hair and big eyes.

Know of any good mechanics?

Ahh this is frustrating though. I wanna DO something! Figure out what's going on! I just don't know where to start.

Maybe something will appear. These hairy things can't just be here to make us mad.

[He recognizes the officer at the scene, which doesn't raise any alarms, but there's definitely something about the way the man in the video looks that strikes something in Shuji's memory.
What was the easiest way to start a conversation without drawing too much attention to himself? Maybe he could just glance at the police report when it came back to the station.]
text; japanese
[That report will have Shou's real name and address on it, including an account about him swerving to miss a stray dog and end up going off the road. He's not going to mention that he was seeing a monster to the cops after all.
There will also be a full tox-screen having been done to him at the scene that shows the only thing Shou had in his system is some caffeine.]

[Not that either of them would know what Japanese spirits look like, but it certainly would be strange to have creatures from his own country's mythology showing up in America.
Also, Shuji somehow manages a bit of sarcasm, which is more emotion than he usually puts into his writing.]
You should take care that you don't get sick.
no subject
[Since he's in a place that might have basements but nothing like the raised platforms of a traditional house.]
I'm planning on having some tea and meditating after this.

Though looking at the report later on will confirm who Shou is, Shuji's not about to admit to anyone that he's on the network. So, he'll just tuck that info away and use it later.]
no subject
Later on though, he was going to have to go to the station and sign things and make sure to get a copy sent to his insurance agent to get his car fixed. They might actually meet up there, who knows.]

The car's under warranty. Once I get the paperwork settled, I can get it fixed. Hopefully.
no subject
Ha! Well, I hope so. It's a nice car, it'd be a shame if it weren't repaired.
