So the "lights" -- which aren't just lights, by the way; they're people if you stay around them long enough -- that some of us have seen in the blackouts. Anybody else been seeing them pretty much everywhere, whether there's a blackout or not?

[He's got a decent idea of what they might be. But seeing whether everyone else notices them wherever they are could confirm it for him.]

[There are so few of them left from the earliest days. Hardly any of them even remember the dogs in the Dead District. But Toushirou does, of course. You remember the first day you ever really felt your life had been in danger.]

It kind of does, yeah. I didn't see anything back then, but I do now.

[That's a tangent, it's doubtful any of them spoke to the presences last year, but he's curious. It's their talking that's obviously been unsettling him the most, but he's let it be, to this point.]

[He, in truth, has no strong feelings about the content of the message. Perhaps a little on them becoming people, god damn they are actual ghosts, why didn't he bother trying to really look at one sooner? But he's merely dragging a metaphorical stick along the fence.]

Yeah. Mainly checking up on here to see if my thinking on them was right. And you're the third person to say you haven't seen them anywhere but the blackouts, so it probably is.

I... those are basically ghosts, though, aren't they? It's creepy. But... then, does that mean you can see ghosts? Or is it just seeing weird things that aren't there?

I see a lot of 'em around. They seem to like hanging around near me. Maybe because I can see 'em. Not sure they can actually do anything. I've tried talking to them, and they obviously understand me, but they can't get any clear answer out.

With those blackouts, which caused pulses... on the same night we went to that ship. [ She almost shudders. Almost. ] This is all a little too close for comfort.

I've only seem them during blackouts. But you can always see them?

Yeah. I was just checking to see if they're one of those things all of us can see and normal people can't, or if it's more specific than that. So far, nobody that's answered this sees them anywhere but the blackouts.

[Which doesn't surprise him too much, but surely he's not the only one of them that can see spirits, right?]

I'm afraid only during the blackouts, myself, though I have seen several.

[He's gone blackout-hunting, after experiencing his first, in the hopes of something changing again-- the one he'd experienced first was, in fact, a pleasant change.]

Have you managed a conversation with them, then?

I haven't, either, though I haven't really seen all that many. Just a few, when I've managed to track them down. Have they said anything at all, useful or not?
