38th Howl | Sunday, June 8 [CLOSED]
Who: Randall/Randolph Lyall and Nick Burkhardt
When: June 8, evening
Where: Lyall's house
What: There's a small problem with some timing...
Lyall sits on the sturdy little futon he'd gotten to replace his mangled couch, his laptop on the cushion next to him but not watched, waiting for Nick to get there. The phone conversation had been brief-- all he'd had to say was that Geoff had invited him, and presumably others he'd spoken with, to the spaceship to talk about the car-- and of course Nick had wanted to come over and talk about it in person.
Lyall, of course, is fine with that.
The door's unlocked when Nick shows up, and he gets a, "Come on in!" when he's at the door, before he even had a chance to knock. Lyall's listening for him, after all.

"Leaving your door unlocked, is that the old fashioned side coming out again?" he teases as he drops down onto the futon next to his boyfriend.
"So. The alien wants to talk to you again?"

He gives a sigh, and adds, "But it doesn't matter, I can't go."
no subject
"You can't? Why not?"

Not to mention the complications that might come from him seeing the aliens as a human, when he'd been a werewolf before.
But he also doesn't want to make the decision for Lyall, by not even mentioning it as a possibility.
"Rei - she used my blood, before. So she wouldn't change on the full moon."

Because he's a little tempted, but at the same time, it's not at all appealing to think he's being tempted by his boyfriend's blood. Not to mention, being without his now-familiar senses while in there is not very appealing, either.

Well. Waits for a few seconds, until he doesn't get one right away. Then he finds himself rambling a little. "I don't... like the idea of you going in there as a human. When you're you, you have ways of protecting yourself, just in case. And who knows what kind of technology they have? They might be able to tell that you're different than last time. Or - not as different, I don't know. But I'm not going to pretend like knowing what information Geoff has might not be important."

He sighs again and sits back up, finishing reluctantly, "I suppose I could just... have someone record it for me... for all of us." Which means they can't go out of town again, this last week before summer school starts... not if they want to know anything in a timely manner. But he supposes it's a sacrifice they'll have to make.

His frown deepens when Lyall sits back up, and he reaches out to maintain more contact, taking Lyall's hand in his. "I guess. We could see who's going, if there's anyone who can be trusted to ask good enough questions. Kotetsu, maybe, or Hajime." The two who he knows that went last time, who're likely to go this time.

Apparently his mind has been made up: no biting his boyfriend. ... not like that, anyway.
