38th Howl | Sunday, June 8 [CLOSED]

Who: Randall/Randolph Lyall and Nick Burkhardt
When: June 8, evening
Where: Lyall's house
What: There's a small problem with some timing...

Lyall sits on the sturdy little futon he'd gotten to replace his mangled couch, his laptop on the cushion next to him but not watched, waiting for Nick to get there. The phone conversation had been brief-- all he'd had to say was that Geoff had invited him, and presumably others he'd spoken with, to the spaceship to talk about the car-- and of course Nick had wanted to come over and talk about it in person.

Lyall, of course, is fine with that.

The door's unlocked when Nick shows up, and he gets a, "Come on in!" when he's at the door, before he even had a chance to knock. Lyall's listening for him, after all.

Nick grins when he's invited in before he can even knock, shaking his head slightly as he opens the door and ducks inside.

"Leaving your door unlocked, is that the old fashioned side coming out again?" he teases as he drops down onto the futon next to his boyfriend.

"So. The alien wants to talk to you again?"
detectivetroll: (I'm not sure about that)

"Good. I'd be a terrible cop if I let that go on." He leans back against Lyall, settling comfortably against him. Then his brows furrow at that, mouth turning down in a little bit of a frown. There's a number of ways that Geoff could have find out about the garage, if that is what he wants to talk about, but... it's definitely interesting, even if he's not a fan of Lyall going to talk to him again.

"You can't? Why not?"

He's very quiet for a long moment. A solution occurs to him pretty much as soon as Lyall says the problem - Rei's asked him for some blood to cover the full moon before, and he's given some to Anthony so he can go out without being a zombie, but he's finding himself hesitant here. He doesn't want to use it on Lyall; he likes him the way he is, and he doesn't want to give Lyall any impression other wise.

Not to mention the complications that might come from him seeing the aliens as a human, when he'd been a werewolf before.

But he also doesn't want to make the decision for Lyall, by not even mentioning it as a possibility.

"Rei - she used my blood, before. So she wouldn't change on the full moon."
detectivetroll: (give me a minute)

Nick quirks a little bit of a smile in acknowledgement - he still feels a little bad about that - but mostly waits for an actual response.

Well. Waits for a few seconds, until he doesn't get one right away. Then he finds himself rambling a little. "I don't... like the idea of you going in there as a human. When you're you, you have ways of protecting yourself, just in case. And who knows what kind of technology they have? They might be able to tell that you're different than last time. Or - not as different, I don't know. But I'm not going to pretend like knowing what information Geoff has might not be important."
detectivetroll: (I'm thinking)

All right, yes, good point. But that doesn't mean Nick doesn't somewhat unreasonably feel guilty himself. He gives a very slight smile at that. "Probably about as much as I like the idea of being responsible for turning you human."

His frown deepens when Lyall sits back up, and he reaches out to maintain more contact, taking Lyall's hand in his. "I guess. We could see who's going, if there's anyone who can be trusted to ask good enough questions. Kotetsu, maybe, or Hajime." The two who he knows that went last time, who're likely to go this time.
