So since everyone got all bent outta shape about me wanting to turn high tech, slightly terroristy bombs on those stupid statues, I decided to keep busy for a little while. So this David Proud guy who made the statues (if he exists, and isn't a tentacled elder god or super-evil AI or something, because I'm really not ruling anything out right now and he's not actually around, just some blurby info from the gallery). I did some reading about the mine where he's supposed to be getting the statue-making stuff.

For one thing, there's really nothing in the geology around here that would make statue-quality stone come out of a coal mine. I made a diorama about it in sixth grade, so I just had to confirm that.

The mine was owned by the Tuning Towers family. I kinda figured that'd have something to do with Thundercorp, but not that I could find by using the cool superspy methods of Google and the library. It's in the park system now. I dunno, maybe bats live in it or something. And it's supposed to be haunted. Spooky stuff in forests usually is, but I don't know if that might be true, considering the weirdness. Plus the Native American tribe that lived there really didn't want to share and make it into a coal mine, and they didn't exactly give up because some old coal baron dudes asked nicely. So that's creepy.

Kinda have to, right? Best case scenario it's got cool secrets that we're supposed to find. Worse case, it's a trap, I guess. Middle case it's a red herring and there's still a cool abandoned mineshaft full of danger and creepy crawlies.

Middle case sounds pretty awesome, not gonna lie. And we can prepare for it being a trap!


Hey, how far out of sight is this place anyway?

I'd be pretty hard to trap, anyway. You should try and get that going through wall thing down, too.

And it can't be that hard to sneak into. They have barriers and I guess people get caught going in sometimes. Because, y'know, cool cave.

That was what I was thinking, yeah! I just don't want anyone to see him is the worry cause he's pretty tall. Since he goes through anything, he can go on ahead and tell is if there's traps.

Yeah, that'll help with not dying. Since if it's a trap, they'll at least have to leave trap stuff behind for us to look at.

Yeah. And I'm pretty sure Diabound is used to looking out for that sort of stuff too.

He comes preprogramed? That's handy. You got all the cool stuff.

I wouldn't say it's anything like that! But those bastard priests did say I was a thief, so to come from the soul of a thief in the time of the pharaoh, it would make sense, right?

And hell, for a thief to come up before the pharaoh like that, I wouldn't be surprised if I was a tomb robber as well. So he'd have experience with that sort of thing, right?

And all the really boss thieves have really cool summonable gods. Life should always be this much like a video game.

Between Diabound, you being able to teleport and Mr. Lineface who can use ice powers, we totally have the makings of an epic party.

We might want a healer. Look out for somebody with a staff.

Yeah, def. gotta get one of those. Someone should put an ad out for a cleric.

Maybe you can pick up a second class if your summoned entity can cover the combat and help with the sneakery.

That'd be pretty epic if I could! Though I'd wanna get Diabound leveled up first. Better not half ass it.

I can cover rogue and whatever the tech class is in this game.

Maybe we can use one of the crazy ass adults as our tank.

And Mr. Lyall's back up and surveillance, not in the fighting party, but along behind us.

He seems like he'd be a good questgiver. I've been kinda trying to steer clear of the adults besides him.

Don't blame you. Most of them are kinda nuts. Though the old man of a cop is pretty okay, even if he's kinda a loser, and that doctor guy is pretty cool.

And Chris's uncle is pretty chill as well. So maybe not most, but a lot.

I have enough trouble not crumbling into a ball of social anxiety and random babbling when I go to school. But I'll keep the list in mind.

It's kind of a stress reliever when it's probably okay if I run out of stuff to say and start talking about Power Rangers.
