[If you give some math homework to Abby, she's going to want some pencils. When you give her some pencils, she will ask for a sharper. When she finally sharpened them, she will want to get started on her homework. When she gets started on her homework, she will stare at the papers in front of her.
When she stares at the papers in front of her, Abby will probably want to scream. When she wants to scream and there's no other outlet, she decides to go to the network for help.]
Soooooo....this might sound like a weird request coming from me but anyone here who is really good at math? Like really really good at math? Or at least pretty decent in algebra? I hate to admit it but....is there anyone here who is willing to give me a crash course? Just enough where I could start reviewing the basics?
[She gave a nervous chuckle]
But don't worry! When you do help me out, I promise that you get the greatest prize ever! And what is that prize?
Singing lessons, of course! And trust me when I say singing lessons, I say that you definitely won't regret it!
[...Or at least just enough where she can pass on lessons she learned from her choir teacher.]

You just need help with the basics?
text;
Yup, just the basics! Or just enough where I think I can handle finals next month! That should be plenty of time right?
text;
Are your finals just on the basics? [he doubts it.]

I'll do it for free though--I'm not much of a singer.
[text]
Seriously? You'll do it for free? Without anything at all?
Well, that's just not going to cut it. Now I feel kind of guilty for doing that.
[text] whoop, sorry for the delay

High school math is a little bit harder but it shouldn't be too different from 8th grade math to 10th grade math right?
[Right!]

Abby, you know a "reward" like that is probably keeping most people who could actually help from volunteering, right?
voice
Probably? But I don't really have anything else though? I know I shouldn't have slacked off but I don't really want to spend my family's money like that either.
[Sigh]
What do you think I should do? I really really need the help.

If you still require assistance, I would be happy to help. I graduated from Locke City University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering a few years ago, so I'm well-practiced in the art of mathematics.
[Art of mathematics.]
And... [Her voice grows even quieter now -- is that even possible?] I think it might be nice to learn how to sing.
Audio
I would love any help that I can get! I only got a month left so anything that will help me pass my final would be excellent so if you still want to...please help me out! I really need help on it!
[Yes, she is desperate! But she did have to lean in closer to hear what Celia was saying]
Um...I'm sorry but I can't hear you. Can you speak louder?
Re: Audio
I think it might be nice to learn how to sing.
So it'd be an equivalent exchange of services.
Let me know what time, date, and location work best for you and I will do my best to accommodate you.

[Then why did you respond at all, Nora?]

It's okay but what am I going to do, Nora? I only got a month left and finals are coming up! How am I going to be able to figure out algebra in time?

Isn't it a bit late in the year to be starting though? [She's thinking aloud, but yes there's a touch of suspicion and worry there. Procrastination is bad!]
voice
[No, seriously, this is what happens when you slack off for good chuck of the year!
Either way, there was a very long pause coming from her end.]
.....Maybe? [Another pause] But that's okay, we still got a month left so it's not too late!

[Hrm. Motivation....?]
Oh! Oh, I know. If you pass, I'll give you a prize.

[Then Abby's eyes widen. No, seriously, did she hear that right?]
Seriously? What kind of prize is that? [Congrats, you got her interested!]

[ Mathematics is right up there in his expertise but he has seen the offers, especially the one from Celia so he's not going to offer unless they couldn't reach an agreement. Chances are, they would since Celia is one of the most easygoing person he knows and a nice person to boot. Plus, he charges for tutoring and he doubts Abby wants to pay, unless her parents are okay with it.
So, he's only here to tease Abby right now. ]

Well, I'm working on it but what kind of song do you want me to sing anyway? There's a wide variety to choose from you know!

I'd like to take up your offer on singing lessons. I'm not sure if I can throw a few bucks your way, but I can offer guitar lessons in exchange.
text;
But sure, I wouldn't mind giving you some singing lessons in exchange for that! I never met a guitar player though before! That's kind of awesome!
